I suppose Aurora Wright and whoever commited last has the source code with them on their PCs, so hopefully we won't have lost anything at all. Still a crap move. What about other repos such as A9LH and SafeA9LHInstaller? I have to check that out.
It appears they only went after Luma3DS
A9LH and SafeA9LHInstaller have been backed up on the Guide, so don't worry about those. We need to make sure we have safe and tested links to Luma3DS, since that's what was really lost.

"kys use RxTools n****" huh....

It doesn't seem to have been affected in its contents, though.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

? I've made backups of the releases, all of them till now. Also, if they have the repo locally on their PCs, ofc they have the source, what do you mean?
id definitly reccomend someone back it up.

It looks like the link is dead again, so you sort of jumped the gun on removing the mirrors.

Thank you so much for hosting compiled versions of Luma mirrors after Aurora's github was compromised. I spent all day yesterday trying to compile from source, but being fairly new to compiling it was just chain after chain after chain of dependencies. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I hope the Author of Luma can get her github back on track soon. Best wishes to you and the original author.

I haven't done much research into NTR CFW, but I'm pretty sure it's an inactive project. I don't use it, but I have heard that it allows for plugins that enable screen capture.
It's a dead project, and not a CFW in the same sense of Luma or Corbenik as of now. It's currently an overlay that runs on top of Luma/Corbenik/etc. As such, it's not part of this thread.

NTR isn't actually a CFW. I do believe it started out an independent CFW, but it has since become a plugin for CFWs.
It does allow your CFW to have plugins such as cheats. As well it allows for screen recording on the new3DS.

if you allow me to make a silly question:
Should I still use an emuNAND on the latest version of Luma? I can run everything just fine, unsigned CIAs, 3dsx homebrews, region free and all that stuff Nintendo doesn't like, but all still on sysNAND 11.0, I would like to update to the latest version in order to play online, but don't matter how much the people say it's safe, I not gonna get anywhere near update button on my sysNAND.... or should I?

EDIT: I don't think I need a new thread for this

My friend... you're being paranoid. It's totally ok to update sysNAND if you're using A9LH as entrypoint and using a CFW that have write FIRM protection patch.
You can use emuNAND if you want, but it's not superior than sysNAND, cause you have to install some softwares in both sysNAND and emuNAND to work on emuNAND, waste space in the SD.
I personally use emuNAND for testing stuff, so it still is useful to me, but if you just want to play games and stuff, emuNAND isn't needed.

You can update either emuNAND or sysNAND on the latest version of Luma3DS, it really doesn't matter which one. Luma3DS uses FIRM0 and FIRM1 protection on the NAND that has arm9loaderhax installed on. Whenever Luma3DS detects that, it will protect it from any 3DS update sent by Nintendo. So it's okay, you can update. It's safe! ^^

everyone says it's safe, but for some reason, my gut is telling me to try it on emuNAND before getting close to sysNAND, and last time I didn't hear it, I payed for a $1k Xbox with no mod on it, I MIGHT try the sysNAND update much later, but I can tell that gonna be bad for me if I do it now....

you can add update paranoia on the side of my googletracking paranoia...

It's like installing a Windows update and worring your PC will break completely (Can't even boot the install disc) after that. It will work.

How about I tell you it's safe? I am trusted tester and officially tested the Luma3DS, CakesFW, ReiNAND, Corbenik, and SaltFW's FIRM0/1 protection. I used my own hardware and downgrade to 9.2, then upgraded to the latest OFW at the time (which was 11.0) being that that update actually would have changed the NATIVE_FIRM and effected the FIRM0/1. The end result, the FIRM0/1 were left untouched and the A9LH install was safe.
Luma3DS, ReiNAND, and SaltFW all have FIRM0/1 on by default and they can't be turned off. Thus there's no risk of removing A9LH. Corbenik and CakesFW give the option to turn it off because they are hardcore.

CakesFW offers FIRM protection as a patch, it's not forced. As a matter of fact, it was the biggest reason it was removed from 3ds.guide - noobs would tard out, not read the instructions and disable the FIRM protection patch.
