This shouldn't happen if "device=sdhc" is set... If it happen it's a bug.
I don't have a wiiU to test... could you please set "debug=8" and send me the screenshot when it happens?

The easy fix is to simply move the data portion of the USB cable from the top to the bottom of the Wii U.
Tested, HDD is not recognized by wii u

Frankly speaking, I'm not interested in further investigation on this eventual bug when I have such an easy solution ....

Is that the attitude you want your testers act towards you?

TBH, if a setting can solve this problem, its way better than having two different versions of the same app if the users want to switch back to using USB.
or maybe you can add the setting to your app?

PS. I don't own a WiiU.

My solution is clearly explained in details and I freely chose to give related dol to have a quick and dirty solution.
Please, let me free to choose what I want or I don't want to make in advance.

It just hangs at the loading screen with the HDD continuously being queried.

But like I said, the fix for me was to simply change the USB port from port0 (top) to port1 (bottom) and the loader ignored the WiiU HDD (with device=sdhc).

Mhmm this should happen anyway....
I want to release the r11 this weekend. I'll investigate this issue in the next r12.
May I ask you to test the beta when ready?

Hi!

Maybe guys you can help me out! My problem is the CFG USB loader mod r78.11 and i want to play games from SD. I setted up the program to boot from SD etc. but when i want to start a game it says: ERROR: setting up fragments -2 3 ID mismatch: [game id] [] ERROR: setWBFS: -3
The games are inside a wbfs folder and the sd card is a 128GB microSDXC with a FAT32 filesystem and it's a vWii not a real one. Anyone can help me? Thanks.

What cIOS are you trying to load the game with?

Where did you get the microSD card from and did you run it through a check to verify it isn't a fake size?

Another user reported me the same problem on a USB drive... The same behaviur was due to the presence of some TXT file along with the game directories in /wbfs directory. The removal of those files has solved the problem.

I will check this out thanks but from USB everything is fine. I found a forum https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-fix-id-mismatch-error-setwbfs-3.373819/ with a solution but i don't know yet if i can install d2x-v10-beta52 d2x-v10-beta52-vWii over an already installed d2x-v10-beta53-alt-vWii

What cIOS is it? Anything can be installed in 249. :) You can just post a SysCheck report if yon want. Please use that version and post the .csv contents in spoiler tags.

Yes, you can install over an IOS slot and beta53 has lots of compatibility issues.
