===This works for GBA/DS (lite) Charger too!====>

Do you want one USB charging for your DS? but don't want buy one?
Don't worry! you can make one very easly! you can also use a PowerBank and charge it! Wow!

What do you need:
*Micro USB Charger (one cheapest will be better)
*You charger (DSi, 3DS, DS Lite, DS fat, etc.) (if you have one NO ORIGINAL, will be better to no use your original charger, you select if use the original or one chinese, is the same!)
*No solderess requried! (Scotch tape will be better for the cables)

===========================================

Cut the Micro USB charger, and separate the cables, you should have like this:
CAM00840.jpg

*4 Pins (Every Micro USB charger have different colors)
Now cut every color, except Red (+) and black (-).
CAM00841.jpg

Now do the same with your DS charger (DO NOT CUT NEAR OF THE CHARGER CENTER!!!)

(> DSi Charger)
All right, now make contact with USB pins, (+ and -) like this:
2017-01-11-14-10-47.jpg

And test it, if all works, congrats! you have USB charger!
CAM00843.jpg

One final thing... use Scotch tape in the cables!!! (DO NOT PUT TOGETHER + AND - CABLES!!! ALWAYS SEPARATE IT!!!!) like this:
CAM00845.jpg

Something important:
USB AC Chargers always must be 5V MAX. NO MORE OR YOU WILL KILL YOUR 3DS!

FAQ:

Can i access to NAND with this?
NO.

How many time take to charge with USB?
Same with AC

Can i play while i charging via USB?
Stupid question.
Of course

Can i use a PowerBank with my 3DS?
Of course!

Can i make more larger the cable?
Of course, you choose the size!

Can i plug it in my PC?
Of course, but don't think you'll have access to NAND/SD

SO I CAN TRAVEL WITH MY 3DS USB CHARGING AND POWERBANK?!?!?!
Yeah!

For the love of all that is holy.
Use the correct tape for the job.

But yea IMO this is kinda useless. Since most people cant solder or strip wires and usb cables for the 3ds are pretty cheap (ebay $2 ship).

But still thanks for your post.

Next time please use the correct tape, or heat weap everything.

All right, next time, i'll use electronic tape, sorry, i don't have it, so i used that xD
Also, i never thought anyone would say this "For the love of all that is holy."you putted me shameful omo
So wreck a $10 AC charger to make an 80c cable? Seems like a good idea!
Yeah, i forget to say it, you can make the size as you like.

Another optional step would be soldering the wires together.

Not required, but if you want, you can solder it to bring more life to the USB charger.
Also, this is for those who doesn't know how to solder.

I just went on eBay and bought a 3-pack of GEN brand USB 3DS cables for $14 + free shipping. I use an Apple iPhone USB power brick to charge my 3DS with the cable, and it's a flawless combo for cheap. (All 3 of us that live here are happy with them for under $20)

Guys don't do this without electrical tape or you may cause a FIRE.
Well, the point is NO PUT TOGETHER + and -

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

You really can't get away with not soldering those cables.
Nah, but if you want to solder it and bring more life to the cable, you can.

You didn't have to do that. The USB cable can be directly plugged into the cradle ports. Also the 3DS has a resistor in its power controller that's rated for 32v@1000mah, so children don't fucking blow it up plugging random shit into it. Here's what I'm talking about.

USB with no shielding is USB 1.1, which means the USB port will NEVER give more than 5v@500mah. That's not enough to start a fire, you can barely feel it on your tongue, unlike a 9v.

Of course, if USB brick charger is more than 5V, you can kill you 3ds or worst :)

No you can't no USB port on the planet goes above 5v unless it's wired up to a higher voltage on purpose. And if you did it would only be the 32v fuse that blows, it's a 22 cent fuse. I looked all this up before I ever made my little cable. I'm also an electrical engineer.

You can even bridge two USB chargers together and charge through the cradle ports at 900mah, the 3ds just gets the same charge as the stock wall charger.

Indeed. Normal USB chargers will never go above 5V, only specially designed chargers (QuickCharge ones etc) might send a higher voltage through the cable, but that only happens if the charger confirms that the connected device supports said higher voltage.

It does the extra amps through the green and white data lines. No extra volts, just more watts.

QuickCharge changes the voltage and sent power. QuickCharge 2.0 can go up to 12V and 3.0 can go up to 20V, but like I said - that only happens after negotiation with the device.

Those are USB 3.0 standards correct? Once he cut off the shielding we went back to USB 1.1 specs. None of that voltage can engage without the shielding for ground. It would be a huge fire hazard lol.

They are Qualcomm's own charging standards for their chipsets only and isn't part of the USB standard. My only point is that USB chargers can provide a higher voltage, but that the chargers that can are designed to only do so with compatible devices.
