Guys i need your help. I was going through the process fine until i got to installing arm9loaderhax. I got the glitched error screen, instead i foolishly clicked select TWICE. which cause the 3ds to shut down. It wont boot now, the bluelight comes on then it turns off. So i booted it with the SD card in it and foolishly again saved the settings to autoboot sysnand and now when the SD card is in it just stays black with blue led on bottom. Auto turn off without SD. what do i do?

Please tell me i just didnt brick my 3ds for clicking select twice.... T_T

Pressing select twice would not brick your 3DS. I don't remember what it says in that screen, but if your DS shut off, then when turned off the blue light just flashes and disappears it means A9LH is installed, but you do not have the required files on your SD card to run. I'm confused how you got it from that state to a state where the blue light stays on though, as that would imply a brick of some sort.

If you can get to hourglass menu by holding start when you power on the device then you can use the option "Restore nand but keep A9LH" and you should be good.

The blue LED only stays lit up when the SD card is inserted. When it isnt inserted, and i try to boot the 3ds up the led light lights up for like 1 second then turns off.

Edit: Okay so start+power with no SD card didnt work. Start + power resulted in "Luma3DS chainloader, press A to select, start to quit and it has hourglass 9 and up_godmod9

My N3ds XL is now on 9.2 firmware (both sysNAND and emuNAND) and running reiNand cfw.
I want to install Luma3DS's arm9loaderhax but do i need to do all things in this guide https://3ds.guide/2.1.0-ctrtransfer (such as creating OTP file...) ?

In order to install A9LH you need to be on 2.1 (There was OTPLess installation for N3DS, but it was causing random bricks, so they removed it), so yes, downgrade the 2.1 using the guide and follow it to install A9LH+Luma-

Either way right now you're on 2.1, which means you need to restore your NAND. If you can get to hourglass menu by holding start and powering on the device, you're good to go. Make sure you have all of the required files on your SD card though. You can't boot the system without SD Card (yet) because you haven't finished the guide.

The guide says:

Press (Start) to save and reboot
  • If you get a black screen, just continue to the next section
Which means .. you need to continue to the next section: Restore NAND using Hourglass9.

Sorry man but why don't you read the damn guide? It's all in there. The next section clearly states that you must boot into Hourglass9 and restore sysNAND while keeping A9LH. With the SD card INSIDE of the console, of course. The payloads, of which Hourglass9 is one of them, are inside your SD Card. They cannot be loaded without it obviously.

NTR wont work on my device N3DSXL . I got sysNAND: 9.9.0 emuNAND: 11.2
trying to use Cheats
followed 3ds.guide

emuNAND is outdated and should not be used. Be smart and install A9LH+Luma and then try NTR .. I'm sure it'll work. Also posting in this thread over and over and over again until someone responds is not the way to go about it. Even if I knew the answer to why NTR doesn't work for you right now I wouldn't tell you because spamming is annoying.

I'm thinking of using this guide to hack my 'new' 3DS on 11.2.0.
am I right in thinking that this is the best fool proof way to hack your 3DS ? and also I believe it gives me access to downgrade and backup up the emunand and then upgrade again ? which I believe is what you need to play emulation.
I hacked my WII and the process seems fairly similar, Im confident I can do the process but just wondering if its the correct route (Which I think so but just want any thoughts from you guys)

The ideal scenario for me is to get Sega Mastersystem/Megadrive (32x?) and game gear emu's and more importantly Neo Geo, Snes and PC-Engine CD Roms as well as some CPS1/2 system games.

Whatever do you mean? You already installed A9LH on 2.1. Just follow the guide. After installing A9LH you configured Luma (can easily be re-configured by holding select when booting), then you restore your NAND back to 9.2 with Hourglass9, THEN you update from system settings to 11.2. It's all in the guide though .. just follow it normally. There's nothing to troubleshoot here, everything that has happened so far is what was supposed to happen as indicated by the guide. Just read the guide.

I don't know anything about running emulators on 3DS as I am not interested, but emuNAND and emulators are two completely different things. Forget emuNAND, it is outdated and not used anymore. You can follow the guide you linked yes, but that guide never tells you to install emuNAND in the first place anyway.

emuNAND is sysNAND; but emulated, running off your SD card. Which means if you fuck something up, it is within emuNAND, so your system is still safe and sound. But now with A9LH+Luma emuNAND isn't needed anyways as there are so many ways to restore your system if you fuck up something.

Follow the guide from start to finish, which will then result in your N3DS having A9LH+luma, which in turn means that you can install and run homebrew on your console; including emulators of course. The guide is "fool-proof" if you have the ability to comprehend written text, but know that when it comes to hacking, even if you follow the guide word by word there is still a chance to brick .. Nothing is 100% guaranteed and safe.

Hey brother have u taken a look at my thread? I posted it as a comment on your profile. Give me a hand here brother plz.

What does this have to do with hacking 3DS? Go back to your Wii subforum and wait patiently for help. Stalking members in other sections of the forums is only going to make them less inclined to help you.

I'm on this part of the guide for new 3ds.
https://3ds.guide/2.1.0-ctrtransfer

The 2.1.0 ctrtransfer image for your device and region
(if your device is not from one of these regions, just pick one):
I'm trying to get the image for new 3ds idk if it works it says old 3ds on the file it linked me to.

just pick correct region, 2.1 is before new3ds' birth so there are no two different versions at 2.1

Thanks you certainly have a way with words, so I should just go ahead and do it then really. I assume It will play games from a cart normally and I can still access the eshop as normal?
