Hardware The 'hype' around third party Switch accessories

It's cool to see the accessories that third party companies will be releasing but why does it matter so much, exactly? Honestly, the only Switch-thing I'm currently interested is anything that Nintendo says because I couldn't care about the rest.

I'm very curious how the game cases, covers and if the Switch will have a LAN port on it.

P.S. As a gamer/collector who prefers the original covers over Selects, it's definitely a wise idea to get the games before the Selects' flood the market. Plus, by being ahead of it you won't have trouble finding sealed copies of this and that, if you're into that (I'm having trouble finding sealed copies of 3DS UKV games).

It's probably because people are so hungry for info on the switch.

Literally anything switch related is a godsend for many Nintendo fans rn. I don't know what accessories WILL be released but I guess there's a reason to be hyped.

That will for sure be awesome to watch.

Luckily I'll be going to a Nintendo Switch special event hands-on premiere which I'm very excited.

It seems the Switch will not have a RJ45 conector, just like the Wii and the WiiU... and the USB-LAN adapter seems to be fully compatible with the oldies

There were games on the Wii U that required 3rd party/extra controllers? (Excluding Mario Party because it's an outlier that shouldn't be counted)

I'd agree except Nintendo has used Bluetooth for controllers in every console since the Wii, and used WiFi for the Wii U gamepad, so I don't think they're too interested in developing their own wireless communication system
