Ok so I started this wii modding hacking about a month ago I'd say I'm a quick learner. Source menu, wiiflow I've got all my stuff set up my buttons covers emulators etc etc I've got a greatly modded wii priloader the works. I CANNOT figure out how to make an emunand work in wiiflow. I've tried wiiflow wiki I've tried every method. Master mod sneek neek20 modmi show me wads I get as far as creating an emunand and putting channels on it. At one point I got as far as wiiflow source menu button for VC pulled up my emunand channels in covet flow. Any came I click on black screen code dump or back to wiiflow. Can someone break it down for me or direct me to a very followable tutorial. It's the one thing I can't get right. It's driving me crazy. I also have like over a 100 channels so I need to learn how to use gecko too. Any help or links to very detailed guides I will be eternally grateful. Lots of these methods kinda assume I already know how to work most of these programs and leave things out.

Why are you using emunand? I don't think it's useful at all on the wii, and it hasn't been for a long time.

Is it an option to just use the sysnand?

Sure, for like 5 games. The Wii only has a 512MB NAND chip. Are you thinking of something else as "emunand" maybe?

Why the OP didn't look around for one of the many existing EmuNAND, NEEK or USB Loader threads I'm not sure. :/

I was asking the OP if he was willing to use his sysnand to load backuploaders :P

I wasn't asking a general question, but a specific question for the OP. I know how big the wii's nand is.

But thanks man. You're a legend on the wii forums. You are always helping people.

I had trouble deciphering it but I didn't get that out of it. I assumed he'd be running WiiFlow just from an /apps folder. :)

If it's WiiFlow it probably needs the start configurator app run and have the save on the NAND set to force a cIOS for loading. WiiFlow likes to stack dump if it can't write to a drive.

I was responding to this part

I was suggesting he just ditch emunand, and set up everything on sysnand.

I think he was talking about getting WiiWare/VC games running. EmuNAND/NEEK is a lot better for running NAND-based games than putting them on the real NAND.

Thanks for the replies. Yeah I'm trying to set up ww/vc thru wiiflow off an emunand on a usb hdd. I get the stack dump, or just a black screen, I have looked all around the internet and tried various methods from wiiflow wiki etc. The cover flow shows up in wiiflow, the sys menu button goes to the emunand, the games all show up and channels but none will launch. I tried thru modmii, sneak, uneek, and i'm not familiar with gecko os yes. I think theres something simple i'm missing or left out. I also realized after the fact that some of the directions and tutorials I came across were outdated. I'm running 4.3.

It could be the way the drive is partitioned. It needs to be MBR/FAT32 and make sure there are no hidden partitions before the FAT32 one with the games on it.

That's definitely a possibility. I used some off brand free fat32 formatter. I've had no issues with it as far as gc iso and wii wbfs. I think I did 32 clusters but maybe I need a better program. What does the MBR stand for? If that's the fix that sucks. I'll have to move like 300 gb and wipe it and move it back.

Hey another question You said above: "If it's WiiFlow it probably needs the start configurator app run and have the save on the NAND set to force a cIOS for loading. WiiFlow likes to stack dump if it can't write to a drive.". I didn't have force a cIOS on. I turned it on. Also I was in priiloader adding the return to wiiflow dol and configuring things to where when I leave a wii game it goes back to wiiflow not sysmenu. I saw some other things in there I could install but wanted to ask someone more knowledgable before I do things in priiloader i'm not sure about. I don't want any bricking risk. theres several choices like ahproot mastermod etc. etc. Maybe I haven't given wiiflow the permissions it needs?

Ok last question and get back to me whenever is convenient for you and thanks so much really. I want to use this method from the 4 methods wiiflow wiki showed. Here's the link: https://sites.google.com/site/completesg/how-to-use/sneek/setup/nand-dump

My questions are what do I do after I do the guide and do I need to get sneek separately not just from within using modmii? and is this method even going to be useable with wiiflow?

Follow up: thanks for being very helpful. I've decided to just not mess with emunands and neek stuff all together for now. I'll run vc off sd on sysmenu for now. Also realized I didn't have either of the update dole revision packs from mastermod. Prolly root of a lot of my issues there.
