Yeah, it's cringy with those type of users thinking 99% of their issues is because of
a9lh being the cause. People should educate themselves to what a9lh actually is before and after installation.

"A9LH is useless! It still uses emunand! I am gonna remove it!" This is something i see sometimes... this is usually a misconception made by those who follow guides withouth understanding what they are doing...

Should have a GBAtemp Pagoda. "Congratulations, you reached level 5 without bricking your device".
xD fun. although its kind of the fault of people linking to guides that dont tell everything such as precautions and also youtube videos. id suggest sharing plaicects guide as much as possible http://3ds.guide/ also alot of the problems arise from peoples skipping steps / not making backups of files and testing sd cards like the guide says and people linking to the middle of the guide doesnt help much either as people often miss important details

I've seen it way back in the day and I might touch on it.
I will be reading through these comments later today and seeing what I can add to the OP

Sorry for your loss retro fan XD

Ok others I have seen "my sd card corrupted because I did a9lh" -> go check the authenticity of your $5 128gb sd card

Usually followed by " well it's real and I have never had a issue before so it must be real, I'm sure it's just a9lh's fault instead so I don't have to check.......shitty devs :hateit:"

We're translating the guide too for making it more "understandable" to everyone :)

which is why the guide suggests checking the sd card before even starting

oh wow what a steal!

Anyways, its probably a good idea to sticky this. I will warn you, I honestly do not think it will do much good. Catboy I don't mean you did a bad job, I just think that there is a certain pedigree of stupidity out there that won't even be able to comprehend this.

Yeah I know it does, it also says to make nand backups at several points but people will often decide that they know best and skip and ignore steps wherever they feel like, which is why there has been at least 5 " urrrg I don't have a nandmin.bin on my sd card, can someone give me theirs etc etc"

As bortz said if they can just flat out ignore steps on a guide that says don't ignore steps or you can brick your console.......those people will normally skip all the trouble shooting steps and just go straight to A9lh sucks or the devs who made it suck

the main problem ive seen was people directing them to the middle of the guide and skipping crucial parts

You cannot really be accidentally directed past a nand backup, before the 2.1 downgrade even happens decrypt9 explicitly warns that a nand backup is important and should be made before proceeding......yet there is still people opting to skip it

parts such as "test the sd card for errors" for example

Yeah but the point is, people are choosing to skip steps by their own choice.....sure maybe some are led down the garden path by people linking later pages, but personally I think most of the people declaring that the know uninstalling a9lh will fix their problems would probably be from the former category

those are the type of people who just shouldnt do it though. thats like getting a kid to wire a network. a simple manual wont help. what if something goes wrong, its their expense.

I've yet to outright test a card for errors, but at the first sign a card is uncooperative (for DSiWare, that was dgTool not loading) I swap to a known working (but inconvenient to use) card.
