I only remove it unless they want to keep it. I asked you, you said you did not want to keep it.

Chances of bricking once a9lh is installed is slim to none. My warranty covers it if you were to brick, you ship it back in, I fix it, ship it back out.

I know, it was my choice not to keep it. My n3ds is brand new, so I was hesitant to make permanent modification to the outside. You gave me the same advice and warranty info when I made the choice. I was just confirming for all.

I hope I get a "surprise" similar to @althinta very soon!

No worries, I just make it clear to everyone reading, so I don't answer the same questions in my inbox lol. Literally as I was typing that message, someone hit my inbox wanting the same info you inquired about.

Just want to thanks @gamesquest1 for my hardmod on my New 3DS XL.

Even though the 11.2 was on the brink of a hack I decided I still wanted a hardmod for safety / future proof. I only spoke on Monday night to ask prices etc... Got it back within a few days sorted. Even colour coded to suit. Very good price and service. Really helpful answering questions and very honest along the way. Definately recommend to any =one in the UK!

Thanks =)

Hardmod requires soldering, your console was flashed with wrong OTP, can be fixed if you have backup of your NAND.

Thank you for the fast reply! I am pretty sure I made a NAND backup. I am curious, since I did a system transfer, the NAND from the source system is usable now on the targeted system correct? Or is that not how it works? Also, I got the 3ds for relatively cheap, so breaking it wouldn't be the end of the world. I just wanted to know if there was a possibility to fixing it.

No, you will brick if you flash a NAND from a different system to it. Will send a message with prices.

@mashers Got my N3DSXL hardmod complete from user @InstaSauce, he's located in the southwest portion of the US.

Mod work looks extremely professional and he had it done quick over the holidays too. I already made multiple NAND dumps to verify.

He even took pictures along the way to send me to show the progress of the mod. Definitely no sign of it with the battery cover on.

@mchew @vb_encryption_vb

Can anyone hard mod.
I seemed to have bricked it out of pure stupidity. During decrypt9 sysnand back up.
It managed to successfully backup it completely and i stupidly rebooted the system instead of continuing to install arm9hl... Etc.
Now can anyone provide a service to fix this situation. Only one led turns on(solid) blue. And both screens are black.

Just got my New 3ds back from @mchew
TLDR: FANTASTIC service.
Amazing communication above what id expect from purchasing something like this. Not to mention his pricing is very competitive compared to the others.
Sent in my 3ds he told me when he got it and the next day it was headed back in my direction.
I felt comfortable with my purchase the whole way through because he would answer my questions incredibly fast and made sure I got what I wanted.
He shipped the 3ds back to me more securely then I had sent it to him using bubble wrap so +1 for that.
so all in all even if you just look at the price difference and not the other great factors about @mchew I would for sure go with him.
If I were to ever need a hardmod or downgrade again id choose @mchew

Since I am pretty stupid, i bricked both of my 3ds'.

Anyway, I am wondering if you can unbrick my 3ds'?

And yes, I do have the nand.bin backup.

Also if you can install CFW for me. Because if I were to try and do it myself I would brick it and come back to this thread so someone may fix it.

Also wondering on your prices for these hardmodding services, and payment methods.

I got my console yesterday courtesy of @vb_encryption_vb and everything seems great! I'd post pics of my galaxy-style n3ds but I chose not to have a permanent connector installed... so just imagine a pristine condition n3ds with a9lh and the latest 11.2 fw installed. (It's a thing of beauty)

May I ask a few questions to help me get started?
  1. What files can I remove from the card now? Some of the homebrew apps say they're for older fw, and freeze the 3ds when I run them. I've backed up the whole card to my home server and Google drive (especially files9 with nandmin.bin)
  2. When I install files with FBI, are they stored to the SD card? What about game saves? Is this configurable?
  3. What's the best method to migrate to a bigger SD card?

Thanks again!

Dont delete any files from sd, transfer all files to new sd card.

I may have left you on 9.2? With a9lh, i don't remember. If so, update to 11.2

I thought I could delete nandmin.bin after backing it up. It's pretty big on a 4gb card.

Nope... it was 11.2 out of the box from you. Thanks!

Just a little question, what exactly is meant by "removing the hardmod" after AL9H is installed? What exactly does this entail? I'm completely clueless so I could use some enlightening.

Hardmod is a way to read and write to the NAND, the average end user never uses it, so some opt to not have it permanently installed. A9LH gives you read / write access to NAND as long as firm0/1 isn't bricked.

The people that generally want to keep it are devs or ppl that like to experiment. Most people don't even know what it is and have asked me before what the port was after they got the console back. Due to that reason, I started to make it optional.
