I was looking at the razzberry PI 3 and I was also looking at retropie to put on the PI 3 for the classic emulation station. I love classic games even though they were WAY before my time but I grew up on the Wii and I have a METRIC BUTTLOAD of these games and in iso format so naturally you would want me to put these game on an emulation station No? but unfortunately the razzberry pi 3 isn't powerful enough to run some n64 games. So I naturally started to look into slightly stronger boards the UDOO x86 caught my eye since it can have a Pentium processor with the super beefed up version. but retro pie cant run on this damn thing so right now I seem to be SOL. so what i am wondering is if anything exist out there that can emulate a wii console and other classic consoles with it , or will i have to devlop something myself. id like it if it is something that automatically boots into itself like retropie

Nvidia shield? It can run Dolphin, though I don't know how well. That's the only thing I can think of that can run Dolphin. You're really not going to get Wii game emulation without shelling out loads of cash. If I were you, I'd just hack a Wii and use that.

Emulation requires more powerful hardware than what you're trying to emulate. As a rule of thumb, it should be 2x more powerful.

so should i shove a little money ,time, sweat blood and tears into devloping something for this platform will this be powerful enough

done and done been around that block how do you think I got the game isos
Then what do you want with a UDOO? A prettier way to select your games? Stick with a Wii if you're absolutely desperate for Wii games. If you're willing to drop to PS1 and under, get a Raspberry Pi 3 and try out Retropie.

I have no idea. Probably not. Some PCs have trouble running Dolphin, let alone that little thing. You should really go hack a Wii.
any idea where i should start devlopment and no im not running it in dlophin i want it to be like a os of sorts

It depends on what your budget is. I could probably find you a decent system if you tell me how much you're willing to pay for it.

Running it in Dolphin? I never said anything like that. Your options for an OS would be Lakka or Retropie, neither of which handle N64 well according to Google. What's the problem with sticking with your Wii? You've got an original Wii right? Maybe there's some kind of homebrew to boot into a pretty Retropie-like menu.

I agree with this. For $150 dollars there is no way you are going to build a system able to emulate the Wii.

No, we don't. You asked what would emulate the Wii console, and I told you that you wouldn't get Wii emulation from a $150 dollar machine period. If you already have a Wii, look up a softmod for it and play your games through a usb loader. Then, you can also access your classic emulators from the homebrew channel.

The problem is that you seem very desperate for Wii emulation. I've told you that it's not happening. N64 emulation is not very good. Here's the UDOO! What the guy says at 0:47 is "The performance is very low in emulators like PSX and N64,". The best you're going to get is a Raspberry Pi 3 running Retropie, which will only emulate below N64.

Actually, it should be 10x more powerful, but hardware can be easier/harder to emulate depending on many factors.

RetroPie is just a customized Linux distro with a frontend for selecting games. If you really want a powerful emulation box that can run everything up to and including Wii games, get a PC and set up a frontend on it that autoruns on boot, such as HyperSpin, Attract Mode or EmulationStation, the last two of which are used by RetroPie (Linux or Windows, it doesn't matter, there are frontends for both)
With a frontend setup to autorun on boot you will get an experience very similar to that which RetroPie provides, but the cost will be much higher.

Does "but ive been there thou" mean you already tried a modded Wii and dislike it? Do you already have the udoo? I would honestly not buy any Raspberry PI spin off board out there. Sure, they sound good on paper (10x the performance of a RPI3!) but at the end of the day, they end up with tiny, niche communities and the software support is abysmal.
