Sounds like you've got a dead battery. It doesn't charge when the console is off, but that goes without saying.
well ive been trying to get it charged since the sun was out it's night over here now...it works once it's plugged in to usb but the light always flashes red disconnect it and it goes dead tried different cables etc and just nothing

Yeah, like I said. I think your battery is dead. Sorry.

this has happened to me. the only solution was to buy a new controller. that's one of the good things about the gamepad - u can change the battery. I actually installed the larger capacity battery with my gamepad. the battery life still sucks, but it's better than it was.

My Drok shows .47A when connecting my iPad. USB 2.0 spec is .5A IIRC, so pretty close.

OP try plugging the controller into another USB source. I plug them into USB multi port wall charges all the time and have tested with my Drok and they never draw over .5A. You won't hurt it. That is a Wii U to the left of the Wii.

These USB testers are only $10-12 on Amazon and I find it very handy in a family of 4 with 10 thousand USB cords all over the house. Have discovered some cables are just crap.

No sweat. I haven't been around here much the past year or so and just the other days noticed Margen67 was banned, don't know the story there but back in the whole 2014/2105 Gatewait he used to go around liking nearly every post on this forum. :)

I've lost my original Wii U Pro cable and most of my Mini-USBs don't charge it, so annoying
I've tried so many but only a few works and always plugged on the Wii U itself and powered ON!
