Just not really sure where would be the most effective. I saw this thread: https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-pokemon-sun-and-moon-on-gateway.450213/ but he's injecting private/public headers and previously I was able to rip them straight from the cartridge when doing a dump via the menu so that's not what I'm looking for either!

Why can't you access the Gateway menu anymore? Are you using the right key combo for that (it changed from just L to L+SELECT at some point)?

Yeah it's L+R+Select but there is no menu like there used to be it just is either boot into Gateway or do not boot into Gateway, like before it was boot into red cart/blue cart, dump cart, etc etc

Well, not sure why you say it's L+R+Select, Gateway website says L+Select only. But anyway, if you tried both and none worked, you could dump your cartridges with decrypt9 too.

Hey bois, anyone knows why Pokemon Moon is giving me a blackscreen with my Gateway Card.
(converted to card2, newest emunand, newest launcher.dat, downloaded different roms)

Apparently pressing enter a second time with the card 2 conversion program is key to it working with the new pokemon games, no idea why but a lot of people are saying that's the way.

I have a question, to update my 3DS Cartridge Games on my n3ds with gateway I update the online games with update data the via the eshop
This works for most games but not Super Smash bros for 3ds and I cannot use my cartridge online, I try to update it via .CIA files but that doesnt due to previous updates

Any tips, maybe i could try and get a smash bros 3ds 1.1.6 update CIA again and try but it doesnt work last time I tried it

If you update via CIA can you never update via Eshop again?

I'm running 9.0 NAND and a fresh 9.0 emuNAND on my N3DS. I'm trying to install Gateway Fast-Boot and am running into problems with downgrading to 2.x. Using Gateway Time Machine I run the downgrade in emuNAND. It says it finished successfully and so I restart. But when I try to run the A9LH Installer in the Gateway Menus, an error pops up saying that my emuNAND is not running 2.x, and it shuts down.
Am I doing something wrong?

Hi guys i may need a little help. I a noob who has come back to the scene since 2014. I have an o3ds with gateway and i used to run it with the website exploit I followed this tutorial since i my o3ds is 9.2 and everything worked except FBI. I then tried to forget gateway and not knowing what to do followed this tutorial https://3ds.guide/ and managed to install hourglass, luma 6.6, armloader ( i think) and idk what else (im a real noob). Thing is, in the final part of the tutorial u need to install some cias and since i cant make FBI work i tried going to my emunand and ,using gateway, go to title manager or Dev menu. But nope. I cant access the gateway menu or emunand no more. So im stuck i need a cia installer and make gateway to work or forget gateway and somehow do a fresh start which i dont know how. I have a backup of my sysnand on 9.2 (you had to do it because u needed to flash 2.1 version in the tutorial iirc) and thats all. Im all lost. I dont know how to start from zero or continue. If you could help me i would appreciate it. Thanks

edit: in the end of the guide they advice you to update the 3ds but i hadnt done it without consulting first because i think i will lose access to the homebrew launcher

You need to inject FBI into the Health & Safety application; after doing that, you can use the injected FBI to install FBI as a standalone title.

i already did it but fbi wont work. the HS app is still the same so i have no way of installing cias

Since you've used Gateway before, you might have run into the issue listed here: https://3ds.guide/troubleshooting - "Cannot inject H&S on Gateway downgraded device"

tl;dr there's actually two copies of H&S, and Decrypt9 is using the wrong one. You have to use GodMode9 to delete the wrong one, then try again.

thanks for the help man, i actually managed to make it work so now i have everything of the bible guide done and the o3ds updated to 11.0.

i still need to know how to make gw work and make an emunand

If I start a legit retail cart Pokemon Sun (JP) game on Gateway classic mode (v11.0J emunand / v8.1J sysnand) and later play the same cart on another v11.0J sysnand 3DS, will the save game work?

To have the Cheats working i have to boot into Gateway Mode, open the game list, activat the cheats i want to use and then start the game from the Gateway Card, right?

I have this same question.
I have several 3DS and several GATEWAY cards, each has A9LH installed and the latest firmware. My newest console, a N3DSXL, has never had Gateway and has no emuNAND.
Do I need to create an EmuNand for Gateway or can Gateway run on A9LH sysNand? Is there a disadvantage to running it on sysNand?
Since I am on the latest firmware with A9LH, how do I set up Gateway sysNAND or emuNAND?
