Super Mario Run Pre-Registration for Android is now live

Got no iOS devices and been impatiently waiting to try out Nintendo's latest mobile game? It looks like the wait will soon be over for Android users.

On their twitter page, the Big N has announced that pre-registration is now available for Android:

Once pre-registered, you'll be notified when the game is available to download. Similar to its iOS version, Super Mario Run is available to download for free and enjoy some levels but the full content will be available after paying a set purchase price ($9.99 on the App Store to unlock all 6 worlds). And just like the iOS version, an internet connection is required to play.

Released for iOS on December 15, the game was downloaded more than 50 million times from the App Store in its first week of release.

The exact time before controlling Mario with one hand on Android devices is not known but in the case of iOS devices there was about three months between registration and launch, so expect something similar.

Really liked Mario Run on the iOS but hope that Nintendo gets rid of the online-only crap.. they probably won't.

I've tried pre-registering but it says my phone is incompatible despite being able to play Miitomo and Pokémon Go.

Nintendo claims it has something to do fighting piracy. People will pirate it one way or another.
It makes me want to pirate it BECAUSE of the online requirement. I'll gladly give my money once it's cracked or they pull their head out of their ass and realize how stupid that is, whichever comes first of course.

Having the online required just makes it feel like they can't trust the consumer enough to just enjoy something that they paid for.

I've added the preregistration to my phone. I actually don't have any games installed on my phone. it's been for texting and phone calls only up-to-now. :P

But a three month wait? I think it's a shame they didn't release it at the same time for iOS and Android. Now, this isn't a spoiler prone game, but things like these otherwise leaves the Android users at a disadvantage. (Oh, they still do with online leader boards, where iOS users have 3 months to "get good"... for those who care about that.)

I actually thought this was going to be an ios exclusive, so it's nice that it's coming to android. I'm on the fence about whether this is a buy though. I'll just chuck it into the maybe pile. I've preregistered just in case.

How the hell is my device with 2 GB ram incompatible ? Not rooted either ?

Despite that my phone is supposedly "incompatible" I'll still download the apk and test it as I'm sure it'll run fine.

It was never intended as a permanent iOS-exclusive but a timed-exclusive.
