So I recently pushed some commits. It's been almost a month since I last did that. Nothing has changed with the issues. I'm still waiting on the feedback from developers of the respectful libraries. In the meantime however I managed to update wallpapers and icons similar to CyanogenPSP. (Not a big feature or anything.) But I also managed to cleanup a little on the font colors area. It should no longer have any delays when opening/closing apps. It has been fixed for the PSP, and since the 3DS used the same system it should be fixed here aswell. I just can't really test it cause I can't open or close anything (library issues as I mentioned earlier).

So yeah, I'm definitely still enthusiastic on this project. Once those GPU issues are sorted out the next alpha version should be available. It's been almost 3 months since the first release, so you can definitely except some improvements. (including CIA) I'm in college now though, so progress won't be as fast as it used to be. And the first thing that I want to get working after Alpha 2, is the file manager. Then all the other goodies will follow along. Anyways here's a screenshot displaying those aesthetic changes:

Now that we have the ability to make custom keyboards, fonts, etc. would this theoretically be possible to be modified to be a homemenu alternative?

Probably not. I don't think there's a way to entirely replace the homescreen yet (I may be wrong) but it could be used as a CIA or hb launcher alternative for sure. However I'd like to wait till I get it to beta stages till before thinking of ways to do that. Replacing hb launcher is quite easy though.

do you plan on adding a Media player, basically Mp4 player?

Most likely not. I'm not planning on writing an MP4 lib just for this. I'm willing to make an MP3 player though. Don't know if there are any MP3 libs out there, if there isn't I'll try working on one later once I make more progress.

Sorry guys but this is coming to an end. Sadly I was not able to fix the issues with the latest changes with the GPU API, so I was unable to release the second alpha build I had promised. Also issues with Cyanogen INC shutting down, any projects associated with the name "Cyanogen" has to be shut down because Cyanogen INC holds all the rights to the name. The PSP version will be getting one final release soon, and I'll call it quits after that release too. (all the things I had committed but was never able to release.) This was something I really wanted to bring up for the 3DS because I'm not much of a fan of the Nintendo's GUI and was hoping to accomplish something better with an alternate GUI that resembles a more modernized UI. School and the GPU issues kept me behind, and I was unable to do anything despite persistent efforts to get it up and running again. Mods you are free to lock the thread.

Lol I guess, but still the issues with the GPU instabilities have made me lost interest in this project. I've spent a lot of time trying to figure out what made the program run so slow after the new GPU changes were made, but I was never successful. There was no code changes during that time either, but when I had to update ctrulib, the program became severely unstable. Controls no longer worked, the UI was laggy as hell, touch screen caused issues with the images being used. Meh, just not worth it.

Just name it cyanogenmod3DS as Cyanogenmod is still ongoing as cyanogen OS is the only thing ending.
Anything with the name "Cyanogen" can no longer be used after the 31st. CyanogenMod is shutting down as well. And also my reply above is also a reason why I don't want to work on this anymore.

Well, it was nice while it lasted.
To think this is the first 3DS project I ever contributed to...

Crap, I thought it was KGB cfw :o
But dang, I do remember the time you contributed though. Helped me understand a lot about ctrulib and sf2d's functions. Thanks!

Will you be leaving the source code up still?

Yes, but I won't' be messing with it anymore.
