Well that was a bad idea. Your not supposed to separate dual layer disks.
The disk was already separated... I only check it out with a needle...
My disk stopped to work almost 1 week ago...
By the nature of the thing... I thing it fell and hitted it side part...
Uh... well...
This is crap.

Thanks...

Most optical disks are made like that.
A layer of writable media sandwiched between 2 plastic layers.

Your only option is to get another copy of GTA 5 unfortunately.

Delamination is the technical term for that, and yes it is hosed. There might be a way for big boy forensics to do something but cost wise it is not going to fly.

Possible option. Find another copy of the game, install to hard drive and hope the broken disc functions as the key/disc check.

My Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3 disk got ice cream on it. It won't come off. My cat also found the disk before me and bit the disk a bit. I cri everytem. It actually read in my computer. I found some files on it, one was a video file. I opened it and the video said "To Play this disc, put it in an Xbox 360 Console". Maybe my disk isn't dead!

Yeah a lot of the dual layer Xbox 360 disks have problems. I got a copy of COD MW2 that was really badly laminated. It had some weird discolouration on the disk but it worked fine for a while. One day the game stopped working and there was no scratches on it so I called up Microsoft and they sent me a new game disk to replace it.

There are few fixes you can do that will re-laminate the disk but your more likely to do more damage. I had a copy of Mass Effect 3 that had the same discolouration. The game worked on my Xbox 360 but not on my friends. Funny enough I didn't realize the game was installed on my hard drive so it worked for me. The trick was to boil water to a simmer in a sauce pan and quickly lower the disk into the hot water making sure the disk didn't warp. Then take it out of the hot water and put it on a warm towel with something flat and heavy on top of it for a while. It re-laminates the 2 layers and if your lucky the disk will read again. In my case it didn't but who know it might work.

All 360 DVDs are dual layered.
It's the way how they are manufactured.

Sadly, none of those methods will be a long term solution nor will it do any good for the disc.
