got it installed ... Is it safe to go online or no ?
We haven't seen evidence that it's not, and many people are doing it. On the other hand, if we can tell which tickets are fake, so could the system (if it were to look.) Also, eShop ends up asking you how much you're enjoying games that your ID didn't purchase, but those might very well be on your machine from another NNID. Maybe it's safe. Maybe it isn't.

Right, Ive bought my daughter a brand new WII U for christmas, I assume its on the latest FW, if it is, can it be hacked? I wont know until she opens it on Christmas morning swtiches it on. Which is the best hack? Id be looking to play back ups off an external hdd if possible. I have already purchased a 64GB sd card. Think my heads a little mashed atm as Ive watched a few youtube vids and have read loadfs of stuff on forums etc. I need pointing in the right direction. I tend to rent games so backing them up to a format I can use would be an advantage. Thanks in advance guys

If you want to learn about all the wii u hacks available today, you can go here : https://gbatemp.net/threads/the-definitive-guide-to-wii-u-hacking.396828/
If you want to learn about the vWii (wii part of the wii u) hacks then go here : https://gbatemp.net/threads/the-definitive-vwii-hacking-guide.425852/

If you just want to install game back ups in USB or internal storage for your daughter to access easily like any app or game without initializing any hack, then you can use what they call "the brazilian method", there is a full explanation here : https://gbatemp.net/threads/wii-u-usb-loading-install-wiiu-games-to-usb-or-internal-memory.445514/
Again if you only want to install the game back ups without any region unlocking or unbought DLC, you can skip any CFW related hacks. It's not necessary for just that.

As I said I rent games rather than buy them so ripping the games would be great. The ganes I rent are all EU/PAL AFAIK. Bit clueless here so I'm gonna have a good read. I've modded a Wii a fee years ago and that went ok

Well for children I'd just use the brazilian hack I told you about, where I install all the games they like to play, and they will all be in the system home menu. No need to launch any hack to see them. That's what I did for my niece and nephew, both of them only want to play some games that I installed, they aren't interested in homebrew, or cheats. But if you're interested in other stuff take a look at the definitive guide to wii u hacking There is a section about game hacks that are easy to use.

On my part, I like tinkering with consoles and enjoy the hacking experience but I'm happy to rent games and play them off a USB.

sorry for this noob question.. but what exactly is Haxchi for? do i have to install rednand to be able to use it?
haxchi is a way of exploiting the wii U and launch hacks without going to the browser. Basically an offline, persistent, simple way to access other homebrew programs anytime from system menu.

Sorry for the noob question guys, but I already got my Wii U running games from the SD card via loadiine. I'm on 5.5.1 and I want to load games from a USB (which also holds Wii/GC games) where do I start on the guide?

Thank you!!

Not yet possible. The only way to load games from a USB on a Wii U is to format your drive using the Wii U (your Wii and GameCube data will be gone) and then use the eShop or WUPInstaller to install the games on your console's USB drive.

You should update the 360 to newest dash before RGHing it yes. But not a big deal if you don't, you can install new dash/avatar updates after. It's just easier to do it auto online before, instead manual offline after.

@BigOnYa I wanted to ask you about your experience with seeing south park. Most of the people a bit younger like my younger brother and cousins that are a few younger than me that saw kids found south park funny because of the curse words, kids at school, that seemed like liking the show on a very basic level.

I could not quite have a in depth discussion of the show.

How was it for you? As an adult. What did you find the most interesting part about it. Did you relate to the parents of the kids and their situations. Was it satires, the commentary on society. The references on celebrities' and pop culture.

I remember seeing the very first episode back in the day, and have watched every episode since. I used to set my VCR to record them even, shows how long ago.
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I just like any comedies really, and cartoons have always been a favorite of mine. Family guy, American Dad, Futurama, Cleveland Show, Simpsons - I like them all.

South Park is great cause they always touch on relavent issues going on today, and make something funny out of it.

  • S @ salazarcosplay:
@BigOnYa were you always up to date on the current events and issues of the time or were there issues that you first found out thru south park
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Most of the time yea I knew, I watch and read the news regularly, but sometimes the Hollywood BS stuff, like concerning actors slip by me. I don't follow most Hollywood BS (example: the Kardasians)

  • S @ salazarcosplay:
@BigOnYa there were relevant issues before south park was made, that's why i think a south park prequel/spinoff would be great. Randy and his friends in their child hood

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea, like them running in high school together, getting into stuff, and how they got hitched and had kids. And how the town of South Park was back then compared to now. That would be cool to see.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
    yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@salazarcosplay if they made a prequel, it would still be about current issues, cause it doesn't make sense to make it about stuff that happened 30 years ago that nobody cares about anymore
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's too late
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the older south park episodes about particular issues usually age poorly since the topic is no longer relevant
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
an exception is giant douche vs turd sandwich, that's always relevant :P
