Since the release of Adrelanine for PSVita, I was wondering which RPG games for the PSP should I play with no doubt.

Thanks.

Growlanser : wayfarer of time . epic does not even begin to describe this game
Disgaea : afternoon of darkness
Disgaea 2 : Dark hero days . looking for an awesome plot , amazingly funny dialogue and characters . all around insanity and fun for all ? look no further . this is one hell of an rpg . btw levels cap at 9999.

not really . the main story can be completed without to much difficulty , just do some grinding . get good equips . but the optional bosses with thousands of levels under their belts and stats so high itll make your head spin....theyr a different story ...but hey its really , really insanely fun .

oh yeah I meant both d1 and d2 in my post

pretty much all rpgs on psp are good. its really just a matter of what type of rpg you like. not everyone likes the isometric tactical rpgs like jeane dark, tactics ogre or disgaea. those are most plenty on the psp.
there's normal ones like legends of heroes, lunar or brave story.
theres the quirky ones like persona 3 and persona 2
the monster hunter and monster hunter likes like god eater
the action ones like phantasy star portable
theres a whole bunch of y's ones
many final fantasy remakes
and i guess dissidia somewhat counts as an rpg too

take your pick

Final fantasy 1+2: dawn of souls. I've only played through 1 maybe 50 times. I used a different party each time. Oh, the red wizard! Haven't tried 2, but I hear it's great too.
On an unrelated subject: field commander is a fantastic real-time strategy

FF IV complete edition, for basically having the best iteration of FF 4, anywhere.

In the same way that Chrono Trigger on the DS was the definitive version for having all the best elements of the other games with none of the downsides, so is the case with FF4 on the PSP.

What the hell guys!

Was no one even gonna say BREATH OF FIRE 3 O_O

Fine it had to be me, anyway if you gonna mention tactics ogre, then mention final fantasy tactics as well. Also Whoever said FFIV complete is best man here. :P

Now for serious business, i would say final fantasy 3 or the one and two, but i never played those. I did play dissidia final fantasy... except is more of a fighting game based on a rpg somehow. Okay how about, Star ocean one and two? They did well conversions from the original to the PSP system. :)

Now also don't forget phantasy star portable. (only if you could play that game online with voice chat.):creep:

Well there is also wild arms FX, i never played it but i do have the first game on ps3 since i downloaded it. Wasn't bad, the third game i guess, wasn't bad so maybe the psp game holds quality. Guess until PSX games can be played on adrealine or even just on vita without adreanline, kinda stuck with psp only. No chrono trigger, chrono cross, breath of fire 4, xenogears, Vanguard bandits, oh well.:ninja:

For the record i forgot to mention one more i just happen to remember since i bought it on PSN, Riviera the promise land. Never ever finished it, but if you know anything about this game it was on GBA before port to psp, this one has full voiced audio for every piece of text that someone says in the game no matter how minor the character is. I mean really, that itself is impressive! But since is a atlus game is hard as well... every other atlus game that comes to mind. So just keep that in mind. :P

I wanna go off record and call it a Harem rpg simulator but maybe is just me. You start off with this partner who is a guy, then get seperated and hang out with a bunch of girls, trying to help them save "Riviera the promised land" And along the way you have that basic affinity system between them where based on the choices of dialog you choose the affection goes up or down. So i dunno, harem simulators disguised in RPG games, interesting concept. :creep:

Just remember is not easy, i wish it was, i wish someone would mod or hack the game to be easy. During fights you get to only use up to 4 items, you don't level up like with exp but you have a variety of weapons to use and you have to level the weapon up to increase stats. I never like doing that i games, remind me of Final fantasy 9 or Tactics advance where you have to use a weapon enough times to learn the specified ability and then you can use a stronger one.

Another thing i don't like is having a inventory limit. That is the number one thing in any video game not just rpg that i hate the most is inventory limits. The way you play the game is kinda hard to explain, is not a free move kind of game with stuff like world maps and sub areas and dungeons, with towns and shops and inns. You have this basic format of inputing a command of what you wanna do. Wanna go to the next room? Press right on the d-pad. Or up depending on where the door is. Wanna talk to someone, press explore button then select the name of the person with the d pad. Is the basic form of exploring.... which i guess is perfect for mobile game, but it might as well been on a cellphone or NDS, anything with a touch screen or point and click, it mostly feel like point and click adventure. If anyone remembers the early 2000 when those games by HUMONGOUS ENTERTAINMENT Then you probably know what i mean when i mention games like Putt Putt and pep's, Spy fox, Freddy Fish, And pajama Sam.

If you wanna talk underrated , then lets talk growlanser . lets be honest . how many of you have even heard of this game?

EWW Tactical :P

But i do like the graphics and portraits and animation. Nope never heard of this game cause i mean what the heck. GROWLANSER? O_O

Look like vangard bandits or something. Time to step it up. Let's get REAL! :creep:

Lunar silver star harmony, a remake of the Sega cd, PSX and saturn game. GODLIKE.
YS seven and Ys oath of Filghana... all ys games? GODLIKE.
Final fantasy 7 Crisis core? mixed opinons.
Tales of Phantasia REMAKE for PSP. (only in japan but i like it even though i just played a demo)
don't forget the other tales games, Tales of the world raident mythology, think is some cross over game. And tales vs. a fighting game?
Did anyone forget about Kingdom hearts birth by sleep? only KH game on PSP?
I can call X-men legends and marvel alliance a rpg right? Sure seem kinda like one.
How bout legend of heroes?
Believe it or not but sega didn't just had phantasy star or shining force but they had valkirye profile as well.
Monster hunter (If you consider it a rpg)
Valhalla knights.

And if you really want to go the extra mile you will get sega genesis collection just to play Sword of vermillion Phantasy star 2 3 and 4, and I also say good luck to anyone playing these genesis classic rpg games cause they are not easy. :ninja:

Fine i can give it a chance, but tactical stuff isn't my thing if not done right. I learned that from Shining force. :glare:

But still the turn based rpg or the Action rpg like Kingdom hearts is what i like, i need options and control over my character without trying to focus too much on management. Super mario RPG and the mario and luigi games does this balance perfectly.
