So,

here is my first attempt at a menu translation, you'll see I ran out of space in some instances, but it seems like it could be corrected by making the menu screen a bit bigger....

Is this even possible? Maybe it's better to just shorten their names.

I actually typed that wrong, I could make the font smaller, or do what you suggested.

I haven't decided yet... I'm kind of burning it at both ends :-P

also I'm a terrible with image editing, so the process is going to be long.

my skills are primarily programming and translation

I not recommend it, though you can make it thinner. But not much.
Is this names are images? What are you using to edit them?

The images are actual text found on in archives within the MKD files.

but I have access to the found that they pull from, your right, it would be a better idea to simply use first name last initial.

It looks like there's enough room for 11 characters in the text box right now. Can you give them separate names on the menu and the unit cards? I know the game gives the full name, but most people would be able to figure out who Sleggar or Burning is. And then when you highlight it, the pop up with the stats and everything gives you the full name.

just dropping by to let you guys know that some anon on 4chan /m/ that may or may not be the op of this thread has posted an improved work in progress english patch of gihrens greed menace of axis v.
if you search for the /m/ thread number 17096874 on a 4chan archive like desuarchive you can find it.
i can't post links because i'm new.
post 17113151 in the thread has a mega link for the most up to date version and post 17118840 includes a small fix that adds translation for the on mission and injured statuses.
