Works amazingly on every android device I own (Nexus 7 1st and 2nd gen, Moto G 2nd gen, Galaxy S3, and even an old Nook Color tablet!) Hiccups are barely noticeable, expect with the speakers on full blast. Well worth $5 and better than any other emulator on android.

Runs flawlessly from my Galaxy S3, even with the recent HD rendering. Pokemon Blaze Black 2 looks gorgeous in 3D environments! I loved this emu so much, I eventually bought it instead of Luckypatching the .apk

I've only suffered major slowdown when I get a torrent of messages. I do wish this emu had

- multiplayer (duh)
- screen streaming to another Android Device
- the ability to map a touch area or double tap to a button ( would help with Metroid Prime)
- the ability to save control configs per game
- speed settings for right stick mode
- invert settings for right stick mode.

With all of that said, this emulator is awesome. I'm using it on my Kyocera Hydro Vibe which features a quad core processor and 1.5 GB of ram.

The saves' extension is .dsv, but it's really a raw save. Just rename your saves to/from .sav and they'll be fine.
The conversion method mentioned on the OP is not needed.

This may have been different 2 years ago, but holds true now.

[Edit]
Never mind, a recent update long after this article was posted, this was changed. The update must have happened in the past few months, as my saves were still raw saves at the time of this post.

Works pretty well on my Xiaomi Red Rice (quadcore, 1 GB RAM), lags just a bit occasionally. Pokémon Black and White run perfectly, same for TWEWY, KH 358/2 Days, the Ace Attorney series, Hotel Dusk and Theresia. With a couple of otome games the sound lagged a bit, but it could be my phone's fault.

I've been using this emulator for a while on a RK3168 tablet.
Performance is not consistent across games: some are running fullspeed, some are choppy. Most 2D games runs at fullspeed btw and it is quite a pleasure playing them on a 10'' screen.
Flashcart savegames need to be converted with Desmume.
Latest version also added 3D hi-res rendering which is great but it slows down even more (currently also a desmume experimental feature, so i suspect Drastic is just a customized desmume build).

Side question:
do you know how to use the "external display" feature?
When i connect the tablet to a TV via HDMI i can only get a cloned screen, while i'd like to get the top DS screen on the TV and the touchscreen on the tablet.

Drastic is best emulator ever made after Dolphin IMO, Download it now, for the hi res rendering if nothing else!

Nvidia shield portable + Drastic + HDMI to external monitor for top screen = Awesome.

On my LG G Pro works at full speed...the only thing missing is the multiplayer, I know it's hard to do but I hope one day the dev add it

It is true that you can connect to drastic with another, for example from cell to tablet as to exchange Pokemon
No...Wi-Fi multiplayer isn't still supported and the devs have no plans to implement it at the moment
On their faq they said this: "Wifi emulation is very complex and not something we have plans to implement at the moment. Sorry, but the "wifi" button in the app is just there to let you know this, it doesn't mean we've started working on it."

also unless they disable the save and reload during wifi emulation it aint gonna work . think about it your playing against someone on say , pokemon diamond , they get in a critical hit , and you decide to reload . how bad is that gonna mess up the game?

Not that badly I don't think. The multiplayer session would simply desync.
