*deep breath* T-Thank you very much for taking a look at my request. I will try to fill it out to the best of my ability but if I miss something or do something wrong I'm very sorry and I will try to fix it. A-Anyway on with my request.

Game Name: FabStyle / Fab Style / ファブスタイル
Developer/Publisher: Ruby Party / Koei
Release: November 24th, 2011
Genre: Fashion & Romance Simulation

00fabtop_zpspskqxwti.jpg

Does it have lots of text?
I.. I'm honestly not sure. I guess it would have the same amount as Style Savvy (localized name of a 3DS fashion game) but I honestly can't say. I can link the website which gives info about the game and someone with more knowledge may have a more better estimate then I. The official website is here: http://www.gamecity.ne.jp/fabstyle/. I have looked at the website numerous times, trying to figure out how difficult it may be but I cannot be a judge on that. I'm not even sure how many images would need to be edited as well but I can only guesstimate that it will be most likely clothes types/brand/locations. On the screenshots I listed below you can see that some (not sure if all) are in English and on the last section there is mini-games that have some Japanese on it but there is some I noticed English already for instance I saw 'Free Time'.

Why I don't think this will come out in the West?
As it has been well over 5 years and Koei seems to be doing mostly Vita games I highly doubt it being localized. Despite it may even be a competitor for 'Style Savvy 2/Girls Mode 3' I don't think it will cut it. Another reason I will explain below in the Popularity in Japan section.

What is it about?
While there is a small wiki page dedicated to it here: http://koei.wikia.com/wiki/FabStyle and explains a lot more then I can, but for the integrity of this post and to try to explain by just looking at the pictures on the official website what it's about. Well, um, first off as indicated by the genre it's a fashion simulation, ala, Style Savvy, Imagine: Fashion Life and Designer, Girls Photo Shoot, etc etc. You run a clothing store which also allows you do to make up and have fashion contests which you can then show your trophy in the losers face! S-Sorry, I do have a bit of a competitive side.

What makes FabStyle different from the others mentioned is that there is an actual romance simulation included in the game. There is multiple bachelors you can romance and from what I can see they take you out on dates and even go shopping with you and pick out clothes for you! M-Maybe their bisexual since they can do that but hey! it's fun and makes me and possibly others giddy! ^_^

Popularity in Japan:
I thought that may have been the case it was not localized in the first place but then I found this website: http://koei.wikia.com/wiki/FabStyle. At first I had my hopes up when I first read this passage I will quote to you but after all this time I... I'm hoping someone will make an English patch for it. Ah, the quote says "Former Nintendo president Satoru Iwata expressed interest in bringing the title overseas for the female audience. Erikawa said she would consider the proposal if it sold a million copies in Japan. Although it has sold the promised number -based on the total sum of sales for the DS and 3DS copies, there have been no announcements of its localization overseas." So it did quite well in Japan which surprised me that it never got localized. I still remember looking at the Imagine series and hissing at them that something like that was actually made but FabStyle could not be localized. I suppose it has/had something to do with the voice actors but I have no idea. Back on topic, it did very well and now that I think about it, I wonder if they would make a sequel for Vita. Well a girl can dream. ^_^;

Videos:
(Oh God, the feels and memories are coming back TT_TT)
(DS, repeat, DS, version of gameplay. The game came out for 3DS as well and that is the requested version. *goes back to crying in corner*)

(Assuming gameplay from before release in November to show the game features.)

Why I think it needs to be translated?
Well as with just those 3 video's I listed you can see that there are some people like myself still wanting the game to be localized. It's a relaxing downtime game like the Story of Season series plus with the same bonus of having romance in both.
Another huge bonus is that, in my opinion, the characters look more real. Real, as I mean in not anime exaggerated and the men look like modern Musou hotties which is a definite plus in my book! That is of course because it is made with the publisher Koei and I could instantly see some of the hairstyle from Dynasty/Samurai Warriors in there.
As you can see, I play those types of games to as well as a very, very many variety of them. To me, there is no 'this is a girl/guy' game. If you like the game good for you, if you don't, well don't make fun of it nor the people who do. I know life doesn't work that way but anyway, this game has beautiful graphics, looks to be amazingly fun and relaxing and has the possibility to make you squeel if you so shall feel like it. I know I shall defiantly be one of those people.

What I can do to help:
Well, truth be told, I have no idea how to translate or code in anyway shape or form. One thing I am good at is proofreading. I actually caught a mistake on the webtoon site Spottoon and told them about it and they gave me some coupons for codes to access pay for comics.
I still notice a LOT of mistakes but truth be told I let it slide because I can still understand it in a sense but if I was part of the 'team' I wouldn't let them even post it before I could point them out. ^_^;
A-Aside from that I'm not really sure, I... um, could be the cheerleader squad? I guess if there is something that is within my boundaries that can be done I will do it!

My little addition:
I know this isn't in the form b-but there's so much that I could go on and on about. Websites that I just sit and stare and drool over the pictures while trying to figure out what's going on in them that I would like to share a few of those that may even possibly explain more then I could.
This was the first announcement link about the game and some details on it.
More finite details, including makeup and contact lenses and information I'm assuming on the romance aspect.
And finally, the Amazon.jp website which has pictures and a video on the game.

Conclusion:
Thank you very much for taking the time to read my post, look at the images, videos and websites. I just hope and pray that it may inspire someone to make a patch for this lovely game. Either way, thank you again for humoring this girl and reading all of this. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, truely.

I am so darn happy that someone has finally put this game up once more to be translated at this year ; - ; its not forgotten but why did no one want to translate it? Its a very good game..its not bad its freaking awesome. I really do want it to be translated as well :( too bad no one wants to...

What we need: not translation. As we already know, English version has midi soundtrack instead of orchestra. So it would be really cool if someone can put Japanese music into English version. I have no doubts that we really need version with normal music.

Upd: just found same thread on the next page of forum, dunno how to delete post :/

Game Name: Final Fantasy
Developer/Publisher: Square Enix
Release: January 2015
Genre: JRPG

Does it have lots of text?
Well, it is an RPG. The originals are fairly small as far as RPGs go though, and I assume the 3D remake is as well.
Why I don't think this will come out in the West?
Square Enix released it
What is it about?
The 4 Warriors of Light venture to light up giant floating crystals in order to defeat the evil elf king. They fight random monsters along the way.
Popularity in Japan:
The original was very popular. IDK about the remake.

I can't read Japanese, and I'm pretty sure there's at least a billion people who can read English and not Japanese. Also, a native port is usually better than an emulator.
What I can do to help:
I can write tools to extract (and possibly inject depending on format) the text after someone else reverse engineers the format. I can help change text in images.

Isn't this version made from the PSX remake (the one sold in Europe and USA as "Anthology" or "Origins" something) who features more recent special/light effects and refined sprites?
If yes, and there is no problem with the prior localization, why don't you put the western script in the 3DS eshop port?

  1. I'm bad at reverse engineering
  2. I don't actually currently have a method of decryption the rom.

It's made from the PSP remake, not the PSX remake.
Also people have been looking at the formats elsewhere, but there hasn't really been any headway in the form of text insertion.

I apologize in advance for my poor English T^T because I'm french soooooo... try to decipher my sentences!

Game Name: Girl's RPG Cinderelife

Developer/Publisher: Nintendo / Level-5
Release: 08/03/2012
Genre: RPG ?

Does it have lots of text?
Hummm I'm not sure, I don't think it does, because the game is based on small conversations.

Why I don't think this will come out in the West?
Because it's not the usual type of game and the principle of the game would not have been accepted because of censorship etc...

What is it about?
You're a girl coming to live in the city for the first time. You're working in a Japanese Hostess club and dreaming of finding true love amongst your clients. The goal is to discuss with different customers and thanks to a system of question and answer, you must win the customer's affection. There are different characters, including some from anime. You can also walk into town, customize your character etc...

Popularity in Japan:
it has not been sold well in Japan, because being a hostess isn’t exactly considered the most dignified of professions in the first place, and we can’t imagine many parents were keen on buying a hostess-training simulator for their daughters.

Game Name: Inazuma Eleven Go Galaxy Big Bang/Inazuma Eleven Go Galaxy Supernova
Developer/Publisher: Level-5/Nintendo
Release: December 5th, 2013
Genre: Football/Soccer RPG

Does it have lots of text?
I guess, but the game is clearly not focused on text
Why I don't think this will come out in the West?
Because while the two previous games (Go and Go Chrono Stones) were released in Europe respectively in 2014 and 2015, we are still waiting since now 3 years and the game wasn't even officialized. Furthermore, a new Inazuma Eleven trilogy has already been announced and the first one, Ares No Tenbin, will be released in Japan next summer.
What is it about?
Soccer, with some killer techniques, and aliens (SPOILERS)
Popularity in Japan:
Inazuma Eleven in general is so popular in Japan that I couldn't find words to describe that.
Screenshots:
Meh. Couldn't find any. Still, here's the box :

Why I think it needs to be translated?

Meh. Almost nothing :P

Probably seeing as how you have to teach the goddess in the game stuff.
Why I don't think this will come out in the West?
Game uses an IC card system used by train stations in Japan
What is it about?
You travel around a game board while taking quizes and teaching the goddess in the game words and other stuff.

The problem with this is it would have to have intensive hacking work to recognize English terms and phrases because the game is built around teaching her Japanese.
Several people who are playing the game have taught her English words so its not gonna require intensive hacking, just normal translating.

@lordelan Do you know that this is a promo for an update for the japanese version of Extreme Butôden and the last 2D One Piece fighter and not a game in itself?

@lordelan Oh, sorry. I thought you were asking for a translation, imagining that it was a stand alone game.
The DB game is aavailable globally but Bandai has still not judged necessary to update it a second time with the last addition of assists.

It's an update for the Dragon Ball game (which is available globally) and the One Piece game (which is Jap only as for now) to be able to do multiplayer matches as shown in the trailer.

Still hoping to get Culdcept translated.

Game Name: Culdcept 3DS
Developer/Publisher: Nintendo
Release: June 28, 2012
Genre: Board game / Collectible card game

Does it have lots of text?
Yes, it does. Text on all of the cards in addition to regular game text.
Why I don't think this will come out in the West?
It's been almost three years. Other incarnations haven't been popular in the west.
What is it about?
The players play on a square board like Monopoly, using the cards they draw to defeat their opponents. There are numerous cards with a variety of effects and such.
Popularity in Japan:
Pretty popular

The translation for the DS was extremely popular on these forums. It is a great game that doesn't appear will be released here, as the DS version was not released in the west.
What I can do to help:I can help correct English grammar, if someone will help with the translations.

Being able to use English words does not mean the game can easily be translated into English. It uses a speech synthesis program built around the Japanese language, and most of the content literally requires that you visit Japanese train stations.
The problem isn't just "can the game support English", it's far more complicated than that.

You don't have to have a IC card to play the game so you don't need to visit Japanese train stations. I'm sure a simple Japanese translation isn't too difficult with this game.

Yes it's far more complicated than a simple Japanese translation, but im playing the game and until now the game itself does not require the ic card, you don't need to visit Japanese train stations. The IC card stuff is an extra, she coments the place you visit and the munny you have in the carde

@BigOnYa I wanted to ask you about your experience with seeing south park. Most of the people a bit younger like my younger brother and cousins that are a few younger than me that saw kids found south park funny because of the curse words, kids at school, that seemed like liking the show on a very basic level.

I could not quite have a in depth discussion of the show.

How was it for you? As an adult. What did you find the most interesting part about it. Did you relate to the parents of the kids and their situations. Was it satires, the commentary on society. The references on celebrities' and pop culture.
