No, the 3DS only lets you have 300 coins. 300 is the max.

It is work, thx for sharing, but i wonder if someone make a list for game that using play coins till now, because yesterday i googling it and found the list game but not in update (like yo-kai watch, dll), and i try on mii plaza to hire a heroes and its works like a charm

I still working on the step editor, but for some reason, if I edit the extdata, the HOME Menu rewrites the values.
It's not like coins. A gama can manage coins for read and write, but games can only read steps. It seems like the HOME Menu rewrites the values frecuently and the values modified get overwriten by the originals. I will need to patch the HOME Menu itself to archive this.
The file it's the same for coins and steps, but the patching method it's kinda different.
So my only actual option it's to patch HOME Menu's memory to patch the step values.

Hello, I'm new to the Homebrew scene, and currently only interested in running this app on my 3Ds.
Will it work on my 3Ds if it has the FW 10.7.0? I only installed the Homebrew Channel so far using Ninjhax and afaik I only need to drag the file to the correct folder, right?

Sorry to ruin the hype on this.. Wouldn't this be ilegal? If you can use it to get games on the 3DS for free without doing anything legit (assuming some games cost money.) Would this be legal?

I know you can earn the coins legitimately with walking, or "shaking" the 3DS which is what I heard on the Wiki http://nintendo.wikia.com/wiki/Play_Coins

Are any games bought with the Points even worth money .

What are you talking about? Play Coins have nothing to do with getting for-money games for cheap or free and aren't related to MyNintendo in any way; they're just used for/in Streetpass Mii Plaza and a small handful of other games to get hints, assistance, bonuses, goodies etc. This homebrew just gives you 300 Coins (the maximum), because generally you can only get 10 per day. Plus, there are plenty of homebrew apps that have done virtually the same thing in the past.
I suggest you actually read the wiki page you linked.

If I may...what is the point of modding the steps? The only benefit of steps, that I'm aware of, is to get PlayCoins. The PlayCoinSetter App gives you 300 coins (or however many you want).

In Pokémon, O Powers refresh quicker when you've logged over a certain number of steps steps for that day, with 4,000 steps giving you the maximum regeneration rate. (This may have been mentioned already).

Your belief would be wrong. What makes you think that this is "not a legitimate hack"? Did you even try to to use it?
For me, it worked fine; I had 0 Coins, then I went into the HB menu, used this, now I have 300 Coins.
