I thought I did defend things and if that is a personal attack you must be a right oversensitive cunt, probably even by tumblr standards. Likewise I would not call you an idiot -- you seem to be able to reason and respond and know things about what you know which are not trivial matters, my issues with you are your approaches to community forming and morality, and trying to impose your will on this place when it is doing just fine without it and certainly did not ask for it (you are still free to try to give it if you want, sometimes something good might come from it). Equally on the post removal thing we have covered it before -- we have rules but fostering a civil conversation is a higher ideal so yeah sometimes things get removed if they are only going to send things down a less than brilliant path, even if technically no rules were broken.

You can dodge a ban by clearing your cookies, waiting until your ISP resets (you tend to have to pay for a static IP after all), going to an open wifi, using a mobile phone/3g connection (unless you got banned on that, in which case use wifi), probably using a proxy (I don't think we have IP banlists checked against forwarded info at present and not all do)... I am not seeing why this would discount discussion of it here though. If banning is bad though then psst kids if you really want to bother sites then block their ads, it is trivial to do just by installing browser extensions

Child porn. Oh no. How could I have been so careless. Ban the lot. Ban it now. Mentioning that child porn might be somewhere is not a way to short circuit rational consideration of a protocol, technology or means, it happens sometimes but that is not a good thing.
All of this is readily available by every means -- see the comments earlier about people using mobile phones. A while back various politicos were harping on about usenet as someone found child porn on there, people then wanted to ban an online discussion platform that is older than the present day internet. A lot of the prototypes for what are now used in the scary deep web were pioneered on the regular internet with drug selling, carders and such like -- I remember nodding respectfully after the busts and source releases as they probably had better approaches to security than my bank at the time. I am not seeing the difference here. It is a tool, there are even uses that are not remotely legally dubious for it, so it is up to others how they use it and while owing to laziness I might not have written a guide (though "download tor browser bundle, press go, search for onion site indexes" is not a long guide) I will certainly not argue against having one on the forum. If anything banning bitcoins and such methods of potentially anonymous remote money transfer would be the better thing if we did want to prevent the things you mention and that is not going to happen either.
