Slim Alternative Firmware

______________________________
I hardbricked my N3DS yesterday to a freak accident (don't even know what went wrong), and I don't have the resources to get it fixed. With the addition of very busy real life, I think it's time for me to say good bye to the scene as a developer. If anybody wants to continue SaltFW, PM me and we can work something out.

Thank you for all the support.

This does protect the FIRM0/FIRM1 from accidental updates?
As well as has reboot patches in place and activated by default for DSi/high resource games/GBA on O3DS?

can anyone pls tell me the disadvantages of this over aureinanf? And advantages?

If you need to ask, you probably don't need this CFW to begin with. Just stick with ARN.
This cfw is noob friendly and that's why I wanna install it. I installed a9lh myself,if that matters. Is a boot manager like that CTR bootmanager which u can use for multiple cfws?
What's the best bootmanager which I can use for this?

Just less features. I would suggest just sticking with AuReiNAND unless you have a particular need for things to be as minimalistic as possible. It's probably not for you if you need to ask.
AuReiNAND is very noob friendly already.

ARN itself is noob friendly already, SFW just strips some of ARN's features out. Also, a lot of people installed A9LH themselves so that in itself isn't a real accomplishment. The fact that you're asking in this thread what it does for you and how to install it already shows you don't need this CFW.

Well then that defeats it's minimalist purpose. I find it perfectly minmal as it is right now.
Trust me, I have one feature in my mind that will not break the purpose of minimalism.

This is ARN with the loader code removed and emunand code removed too
I revised the reboot patch and removed the eshop patch (because it broke more than it fixed, and didn't really fit the vision of "updated sysnand")

Seriously, why is this a thing? It isn't a "new" CFW. It doesn't add anything special requiring a release. Having the code is fine. Renaming the project is meh. But release like this? Kind of ridiculous. There's no point. Had it been a new CFW? Great. Had it been a major modification, like adding O3DS support to a N3DS only CFW, great. Otherwise, don't make a release thread. There is literally no point.

The disadvantage? You loss several features like the configuration menu. The advantage? Being minimalist often comes with the advantage of being installed once and rarely needing updates.
I use Ctrbootmanager9 myself and find it works the best for me.

I'm not understanding the obsession with "minimalism" here.
Most minimalist CFW's rarely update, meaning it's just install once and forget about it.

AuReiNAND started out a nothing special CFW that only ported ReiNAND to the old3DS.
People want options, don't damper them because you don't want options.

Well, honestly I wouldn't call renaming the payload name a "revision". You removed one patch too many though, the silent updates patch didn't do anything:)
