What do you mean? Like whats connected or disconnected or what happens?
Yeah, and what exactly happens (i.e. freezing, DSI error, black screen, etc.)
Does anyone know if installing VC wads leaves any traces? I know the homebrew channel does, but additional wads do anything?
Yes, but they should show up as legitimate titles

Latest version is r78 but the website seems to have been offline for quite a while, maybe CFG is abandoned. If you want I can upload it.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Can anyone help with my set-up? It's a basic HBC/CFG USB Loader/d2x 249-250 setup which works fine until I plug in a hard drive with Y cable and then it black screens instead of reloading the IOS.

HBC can't even run Aspect Fix and return back to the HBC, instead it black screens. That doesn't use d2x, just IOS 58.

More info here...

Cheers.

Forgive me if this isn't the right thread to post in. My kids want to play several Wii U games online and are unable to because it wants an update. After downloading the update (5.5.0u it seems), the Wii U gets the dreaded 162-3006 error.

Looking for other posts with that error and running syscheckhd, I think I've narrowed it down to a "bad" version of ios15 rev 1032 when 1288 is needed instead. Is that something anyone could PM ? Should I post the entire syscheckhd output?

Any help would be appreciated.
Well, I looked through those forum posts. I've tried using my phone hotspot to update and I get the same 106-3006 error. It downloads, gets to around 29% installing and then fails. Is there anything that looks wrong with my vIOSs ?

Sorry (for the extremely long time),Yes there is/are error(s).

vIOS15 (rev 1032) is a wii IOS.

You need a vIOS15(rev 1288).(a vWii IOS)

Good Luck with updating to 5.5.1 (as of April 19th 2016)

You,of course, will lose most of Wii U exploits and homebrew-ish stuff(by upgrading) but user space browser exploit works as well as private kernel exploit(but I am assuming you know this and have factored this into your decision).

So if I am understanding this correctly I can't update my wii u to the newest version if my vwii is modded, or am I misunderstanding something?

THanks so much for the heads up, I was able to update my wii u and everything on my vwii still works. This is the third or so time I have had to make a post asking wether or not it's safe to update, and I appreciate the help each time. I just need to play my wii u more and I wouldn't get so behind in updates.(and yes I know I could have modded my wiiu side, but it would just be too much of a headache and I have all the games I want)

I've been browsing the tuts and some of the stickies, but still a little confused where to begin after installing the starter homebrew files.
Is there a current vwii homebrew setup that is the "preferred/defacto" way to go now? You still need to use an external hdd drive and such to have old wii games on rather than through the SD card port correct?
I have a new old stock WiiU on FW 2.x something I think. (Skylander swap force 8gb bundle) I have wii lego batman disc for running bathax, but I just didn't want to start running defunct/outdated wii homebrew managers/files and such.
I plan on using wii games about 95% of the time, but gamecube support would be nice too, just in case.
Thanks for the help!
