I think this is just a tutorial how to replace your HDD inside(replace 500 gb hdd with 2TB or 1TB), which is the reason you need to carefully copy all the licenses and stuff.

Licenses wouldn't be necessary if you could pirate games, you're basically creating the EXACT SAME hard drive and putting it back, there's no way this lets you play any game you want.

This seems too good to be true
Brazilian "hackers" did something similar (or the exact same thing) for the PS4, and it was confirmed.

Assuming it works like the Brazilian method mentioned above, it doesn't allow you to play any game you want. Essentially you clone someone else's hard drive and get access to their already-installed games.

I'm pretty sure that if you clone a hard drive of console "X" and try to use this method to play games for free on console "Y" this won't work, as the licenses are most likely attached to a console, and will not work on a different console.

This is taken from wololo: "Activate a PS4 for a given account, make a full copy of its state/NAND, deactivate it, then copy the backed-up NAND again. UOL mentions however that in their experiment, their console ended up with 2 registered accounts, which are part of the cloning process, and required for the games to work."

Wait, so they copy/paste the NAND of one console on to the other and it works ? Or is there something I'm missing here ?

Actually, now that I have looked at it again it may possibly work. It might just be a crappy ambiguous guide. I now see that they probably left out the details that the source console becomes the target and that you probably can never go online again. If this is the case, the guide should say that after you clone the hard drive you need to transfer the account to a new XB1. It wouldn't make sense the other way because you would be blocking access to the games (which should get wiped anyways upon the first boot) once it knows your account has been transferred.

It seems to just be game sharing, easiest way is to just share your account details with a friend and go halfers on games

Its not a way to play backups, its just a copy an account. You'll need 2 accounts, 1 with lots of games and 1 with none. And it doesn't look like it can play new games after thats done, you will have to do it all over again to play any newer games.

When the xboned can play backups I will think about getting one. Not get one, just think about it.
