1. Syscheck
2. Format your USB with FAT32 Format and put games on your FAT32 USB with WiiBackupManager.
3. Alt. put gamecube games on your FAT32 USB with DMToolbox ... explained above,
4. Get latest version of USB Loader GX from Cyan's note - its here - USBGX r1231

Can someone explain how exactly to perform step 4 above? So far I've copied the folders from the link to the "apps" folder on my SD card.

From there I've been able to see 3 additional USB Loader GXs on the HomeBrew Channel. They all seem seem to be version 3 with the same rev number.

I selected the first loader in the list that was version 3 and was able to play a game without issue.

My question what is the signficance of having 3 additional loaders since they appear to all be the same, what can i do to consolidate them, and how can I go about setting up a forwarder on the home screen so that when I click on the USB Loader GX channel it doesn't take me to the old loader, which is version 1 incidentally.

if you see "3 additional" homebrew, you didn't install it correctly.

You need to copy the "boot.dol" file located in th" /249/ folder to
/apps/usbloader_gx/ folder

But, 1231 is old !

Please, look in my signature again and use this new version.
You will find only one "dol" file inside so it's easier to install.

As for the forwarder:
Do you still have v1 available on on SD card and listed in homebrew channel?

if you already have the forwarder channel installed, it's loading the "boot.dol" file located in /apps/usbloader_gx/ folder
so if you didn't replace the boot.dol of v1 with the boot.dol of v3 that's your issue.

If you don't have v1 on your SD card, then you don't have the forwarder channel installed but an old "full channel" with the loader inside the channel not on your SD.

It's recommended to delete the "full channel" (use a wad manager, or delete it from the Wii's channel manager menu)
Then use a wad manager to install the forwarder :
https://usbloader-gui.googlecode.com/files/USB Loader GX-UNEO_Forwarder_5_1_AHBPROT.wad

Cyan, you are a legend!

I am having the same issues as the other people here. I would like some help please. I have my games backed up. Problem is when I hit start in usb loader gx, it takes me back to homebrew on any of the games. If I use wiiflow, it black screens. So, I have everything on fat32. I used wbfs manager 3.0 to transfer my backup games to the harddrive. I have 1.43u update on the wii. Originally the Wii didn't like my 128gb flash drive, so I went with the external hdd. Wiiflow tried to load from disc when I hit start. Hmm.. apparently I have the latest usb loader gx and wiiflow. Do you think I should just redo the whole install? What should I do/try oh fountain of wisdom?

p.s my friend had originally placed homebrew on the Wii. I am left with this to figure out.

If you know Cyan and had read this thread
why don't you post a syscheck log ? (tutor in Cyan's signature)
why don't you list the actual version of ULGX from the credit page? You know we hate the word latest (you think its latest but may not be true).
why don't you use WiiBackupManager ? (wbfs manager is not the same as WiiBackupManager as does not support FAT32)
why don't you ask in Cyan's ULGX main thread ?
what do you mean by 1.43u update on the wii?

Well, my friend attempted to mod my Wii U and apparently messed up the files listed here. Can't get them via Bluedump due to the moron installing older versions. Does anyone have IOS56-64-v5918.wad
IOS57-64-v6175.wad and IOS58-64-v6432.wad available?

why would you want these files?
if you posted in this thread, I suppose you want help with backup loading.
I suppose you want to install cIOS, and that may be why you want the IOS56 and IOS57 files to act as base for the cIOS?

using these files are only for the offline installation method.
Why would you want to install offline, when you can let the cIOS installer download the proper and latest version directly from the official nintendo servers?

to resume :
1. You don't need these files
2. you probably followed an outdated guide ! (very outdated)

Edit:
Sorry, I didn't notice you wanted them for the WiiU.
I thought you were actually modding your Wii, because you are in the Wii section and are talking about very outdated files.

But that's the same answer :
1. you are following an outdated guide (for sure now)

You don't NEED to replace, or touch, or update, or extract these files anymore!
Please, DO NOT USE cIOS installer 3.1, but instead you need to use cIOS installer 2.2MOD (yes, older version is better here)
But 2.2Mod will use your internal IOS to install cIOS. I hope you really didn't mess with your console content. NEVER touch IOS lower than 200. (and, while I'm giving advice, never follow random and outdated youtube tutorial as it if was perfect for your situation)

d2x cIOS installer 2.2MOD for vWII only

Post it in the support thread for whatever loader you're using. This is from 2014.
Make sure you post (in the support thread) what versions of everything you're using (not just "latest version") and what HDD, etc. you have.

I'm also alittle confused if maybe I don't have the right version of the USB Loader GX, or it's in the wrong slot, why I need help, thanks.

you don't need to add the missing IOS, as you can use slot250 for all your games.
but by default, the USBloader's used slot is 249.
you just have to go to the settings and set the Loader's IOS and the game's IOS to 250 instead of 249.

Or, you can just install d2x v8-final with base56 in slot 249.

base56 is not compatible with all games, but users got used to install both 56 and 57, and switch to 57 for the few non working games.
but really, 56 is not needed.
