About:
As of June 8th, 2013, the Newer Team has release their highly anticipated Newer Super Mario Bros. Wii. This is an extensive hack that has been in the works for 3 years by a team of highly talented individuals.



This is incomplete list of the changes you will find in Newer:

• Redesigned World Map
• Additional Power-Ups
• Additional Bosses
• Addition Enemies
• New Music
• New Textures
• 128 All New Levels

Requirements:

• You MUST have a retail New Super Mario Bros. Wii game disc.
• The Riivolution software.
• The Newer Super Mario Bros. Wii game files.
• An SD card that has at least 570 MB free space.

NOTE:

This hack CANNOT be played via USB Loaders, via a burned disc, or by any other means than what were intended by the makers of this hack.​

Please, lets keep this thread free and clean of complaining about the anti-piracy, how to get around the anti-piracy, complaining about how your drive is burned out... etc.​

I am not part of the Newer Team, the Riivolution Team, or anything associated with this hack. I do not represent these teams at all and I am not a spokesperson. In fact, these images are directly hosted on the NewerTeam.com website.​

Yes. And actually, there's 4 threads. This thread, my other Complaining about Anti-Piracy thread, the original thread, and then this one created only a few hours ago.

I created this thread to be a great source of information that will have a guide, pictures, and hopefully a nice little app to help out the lazy people (no promises on that yet). I want this thread to be for anyone who needs help, wants to discuss the game and secrets that they've found, or for those who just want to show their appreciation to the authors. I specifically want this thread to officially be the unofficial thread

You can't. Atleast not yet, I heard there are some plans on making Riivolution-Patches work with Dolphin, but there's nothing useable yet.

way too many threads for one custom game. Everything (including complaints) should just be in one thread, a mod should really merge them all. There is no reason a general discussion about the game can't be all encompassing.

how can i make this work when my disc is scratched to shit? i even tried buffing the scratches with a rotary tool and toothpaste.

I think we need a priiloader hack that load disc header info and title/tmd info from sd card, would be perfect.

Wow.

I'm so proud of the team who went ahead and achieved the original goal from 3 and a half years ago, unwaveringly, no matter what the cost, in the name of the best quality Mario adventure humanly possible among the 'hacker' community. Congratulations to Pop and Skawo, the core of the project, there from the very beginning until the end, and further congratulations of course to Treeki whose at-the-time 14-year-old hacking genius made it all possible. Then there's all the other hard workers who joined at the beginning or very near the beginning (that which ironically seemed like near the end to begin with), Tempus, Vibe, Xane, and then the rest I can't remember since it's been so long so I hope they come in here and talk about their achievement.

But for all of us, it's a milestone in the hacking community. This game holds up to ideals that are valuable in many ways: to encourage the striving toward excellence, the striving towards completing a project, proving to those in the industry (who may likely be paying attention) that there are very talented and skilled level designers around the world who could make great use of an official level editor, that collaboration is possible and produces results greater than the sum of parts, that quality is better than quantity, that patience is a virtue, and specifically that Mario fans are an insanely passionate bunch, and we should come together and celebrate the fact that the appreciation and joy of such a peculiar art form -- jumping on colorful blocks -- is universal and can unite everyone around the world in a constructive, positive fashion.

So having said that, please, everyone, ENJOY jumping on these colorful blocks. Appreciate what this is all about. Buy a copy of New Super Mario Bros. Wii if you don't already have it, and show support for both Nintendo and the Newer team for this unique marriage of corporate and consumer, and post your comments about the game. About the levels, the music, the bosses, the technical and the artistry; the old, the new, and the newer.

OK so if I have the original NSMBW disc but Riivolution is not working because I have my system configured to work with USB loaders (cIOS etc..) what exactly do I have to do to reconfigure the system so it will work?

IFAIK, you only need a clean ios37 for rivolution, possibly also a clean game ios, 53 for nsmb. Any other cios should not be relevant to it.
