Both devolution and dios mios support only FAT, nothing else.
The only GC loader I know supporting WBFS partitions is WODE, they have a special tool somewhere on their HP
I suggest you consider switching to FAT32, much better supported for Wii stuff too.
Can you convert ISO to FAT32? If so, can you name a backup loader that might be able to play those from a usb?
Does wbfs2fat.py convert iso to fat32?
PyroSpark, FAT32 is a file system architecture not a file type.
stop thatever you are doing, you seem really confused
will edit with more in a moment
Yes, you are really confused
WBFS and FAT32 are file systems to store files
.iso and .wbfs are file types
wbfs2fat.py will convert your whole WBFS partition to FAT32. It will not convert .iso to .wbfs
Not that its a bad idea but you should know what you are doing before converting a whole partition
I have no experience in WODE but I know its a hardware kit you need to purchase
Other means of playing GC games on Wii do not use .wbfs format and do not support WBFS partitions.
I just wanted to avoid any damage.
What I meant was that you use the FAT32 filesystem for GC games.
I did not say "format your current hdd as FAT32" since that is not the only way to do that.
And since it involves loosing / copying all data I don't like that way.
Another common way would be to simply use a different hdd / sdcard for GC.
wbfs2fat is still another way, it takes a WBFS and converts it into FAT32 while keeping the games intact.
They will be stored as .wbfs files and can be used by most Wii loaders as they are.
Additional wii games can be added as .wbfs files too (by the loader or by a manager like WBM)
Once you have a FAT32 one way or the other you can add the GC games
there are two main way to do that
Devo and DM can both use the plain .iso as you have it now, copy it to the right location (depends on loader) and you are good, no need to convert it
DM can additionally use a directory structure with all files from the game extracted (don't remember the tools name, look in DMs thread)
assuming there's a "need" missing in that sentence, yesSo basically, if my usb is already fat32, then I just devo or DM to make my GC isos playable? >.>
assuming there's a "need" missing in that sentence, yes
