Hey I've been thinking about it...
Does anybody knows if the programmers are still alive?

I want to be clear about what I'm about to say, so here it goes...
I'ts not that I don't support the project or that I'm not cheering up anyone.
I just think that somethings are just NOT TO BE AND PERIOD if you know what I mean.
This project has been delayed for soooooooooooo much time that I JUST DO NOT CARE ANYMORE FOR PLAYING IT IN ENGLISH.
Let's face the truth IF THE PROGRAMMERS REALLY JUST WANT TO RELEASE THE PATCH UNTIL IT'S 100% DONE (C'mon really? And everyone is okay with that?) I am terribly sorry but I feel sorry for everyone that has the illusion this will happen.

Patches are done BY PARTS because they are and they have to be done this way! Otherwise we would have to wait an eternity to play the games (I think that's exactly what has been happening).

And if I may point it out:

"What happened to swords, shields, bow and arrows when modern weapons like machineguns, cannons, bombs and bulletprof vest came out? They were totally overtaken by the new technology"

So when this patch comes out, if it does... It will be totally outdated to the new modern games that I think almostly everyone is already playing.

But who am I to say anything about this project right...Good luck, I hope everyone finds what they're looking for or realize this is a BIG WASTE OF TIME!

You do realise that many fantranslations take a long time to be completed right? So either way, even if they release or altogether, it will still take a while and as such the game will be "outdated" so to speak. Heck even official localisations sometimes take quite a while before being released.

You say that they should release bit by bit so you can play. And what is the point in that? As mentioned, if you only play the translated segments, you'd end up finishing the entire thing every so slightly earlier if you even bother to continue from where you left off to begin with. You'd still have to stop at parts which are untranslated anyway. If you decide to go through, then you shouldn't even be waiting on a translation patch. And what's more. By releasing by parts, the translators will be pressured to rush and release patches frequently or people will give them shit once again. And what happens? The pressure will build up and chances are, the translators will stop giving a shit and just stop altogether. Releasing in parts will NOT guarantee that a project will be completed. And why are we so accepting of the terms set by the team?
Because a) none of use know sufficient Japanese to play the game
b) they are the only ones translating atm

Look if you want to play only the latest games, then the best way is to learn Japanese. Then we won't have to listen to your crap. All is good. :)

I would like to point out once again that these people are not obligated to translate. They have their own things to do. And they can take their own fucking sweet time and release however they feel like it. But seriously, what is the point of your post? It does not contribute in any way at all. All I see is someone who thinks he/she is smart for trying to put the team down. Feeling good about it now?

PS: WTF why in the world are you comparing weaponry to games. *Mindblown* But ok, if you want to go there. We all have cars and shit now, but why the hell are we walking still? Our legs are obviously outdated ffs. Or bikes? Obviously they are inferior tech wise.

Digimon World 1 is outdated as hell, people still enjoy playing this.
I still enjoy playing. This remake even more.
Games age like wine, if they are good they will get better, because game industry is NOT. It only gets worse with every year...

Anyone who thinks that this is another "half-assed never gonna release anything" patch is DELUDED.

We don't release no patch because we want to make the fans suffer or anything.
We do this because we care too much for our project to have anything stop us from completing it.

It might take time yes. If a game is being localized it still takes a year. That holds even true for Pokemon when Nintendo of Europe is localizing it.

We want to show people that if Bandai don't care WE DO!
We don't have to depend on the Big Companies and YES WE CAN (sorry simply had to do it) make a Translation that will hold up to the level of the translation of a
professional Game Company like Bandai, or even surpass it!

Patches are done by parts because those groups want to be praised by the fans.
"OMG YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST FOR RELEASING THIS EVEN THOUGH 90% OF THE GAME IS STILL FRICKIN JAPANESE" We obviously want something different.
People don't complain because they understand our concept.

They have seen enough Fan Translations going down the abyss and being abandoned for.
razezonvolt007, if you don't that is your problem.

I'm grateful there are fans that support us and understand why we do things the way we do.

So what I'm going to say guys is: Thank you for the support. Thank you for your patience. It won't go to waste .
So far I finished off every project I started (for reference, I went all the way with fansubbing Angel Heart with those great guys from Anime-Kraze)

Unless I'm going to die in the process, this WILL BE FINISHED.

What the...
That's it I just realized that I have a life to live and I don't like Digimon that much
What the heck I always knew that!

Ps: I Already finished the game Digimon Re:Digitize in one month after the launch in japanese without the translation so...well
If the history is the problem just watch and play the game using a little bit of your imagination and you have an idea of how the history line follows
BANDAI and several other companies doesn't gives a s#$*t for any efforts to translate any game at all, they are all freaking big companies to care for it that's the truth.
You know they released the game only in japanese because they knew the ones who are interested in playing the game english would have to make a translation for themselves, THEY SAID THAT, and with the close launch of the PS VITA they probably just cared even less.

Oh yeah I was forgetting!
I loved the whole idea of the legs and bikes! Really amazing! I still can't hold myself
but hey if legs are outdated for some people, I see the Human body as the ultimate technolgy of all time so far, this inner technology, the potential that we all have inside is just without limits, without that potencial the world wouldn't never be so marvelous the way it is, think about it just a little...
All I'm saying is that is just not worth it to be locked inside this illusion.

But don't worry I'm not going to say anything else to disturb the forum or the translation process by that matter
Good Bye!
I'm Happy for this!

Good for you. Just like reading a comic book in a foreign language. Sure you can get the gist of it but I'd rather appreciate what the author wanted to say exactly by understanding fully. But that is just me. Personal preference. LOL We're cool on that.

The burden of proof is on you as you made the claim. Proof or it didn't happen.

And when did we say we cared about what Bandai thought? They can believe in purple flying unicorns for all we care. What are you on about? O____o And no, Bandai did not release in Japan only because we would make translations. Dude you even said it yourself. They don't care about that. They would probably release it in Kiswahili if that would guarantee the highest returns. All they know is that more likely than not, localising it in English will not garner sufficient profits. THAT'S what they care about.

As much as we like to think our potentials are infinite, there are still limits to your body, like it or not. Trust me. I would know. Just sayin'.

And what is this about us being "locked inside this illusion"? I mean, sure we would love to see this project done. You describe it as if we camp in front of our computer screens, refreshing the page every 5 seconds. Relax. You'd be pleased to know that we still carry on with our daily lives. When some noteworthy update appears, we are happy. Otherwise, we just do what we do now. Nothing of value lost. Hope for the best; prepare for the worst. :)

Best Wishes Romsstar. Hey if you guys are tight I'm sure a few of us would be willing to contribute to a kickstarter. It's just a thought but I'm sure the team could use something to spur you on.

I just lol'd.
I want to mention the fact that, most of the time, I don't really care about other people when I'm trying to make a patch, it's for my own benefit.
If you've already finished the game, fine, what's with the "omg it'll be outdated" stuff ? You've done it once, good, you come back a year later to play it in English, maybe you'll have a new experience.

You've been trying to prove a point here, but as I must say, I don't care about any timeline, I don't care about whining people, I just want to get this sh** done to enjoy it. Oh and yeah I'm one of the "programmer" per se. Even if my contribution for the moment have been to work on PSP emulators to be able to do something so...

I hope that the haters and the ones who only say negative stuff about this, don't affect to the ones making this project. Because if they do, and the people working on this say something like "f*ck this sh*t, we quit, it ain't worth it, why make this patch if people won't enjoy it and is already saying sh*t about it ? " I would be like this

Hey, sorry if this is mentioned somewhere else, but I've looked various places and I don't think it is. How did you guys even open the .pack files to start translating things?

I hope the team finish this soon, i really want to play this in English. its way too complicated playing this game in Japanese. and i cant wait any longer to understand whats going on the game story. i'm just thinking. what if one of the programmer had an accident and died, or worst all the programmers had an accident and died in the result and haven't finished the 100% game translation. will this patch will come to public or it will be like unplayed patch, wasted patch or something, im just curious. no harm implemented. and for the team working on it. good luck, im still going to play this english patch your working on, even if you finish it after 7 years or more. good luck and god speed. we support this translation project!

We have magical powers, that's how we opened the .pack files.

Btw, you really didn't search long, because it is mentioned somewhere :) (clue: not on this forum)

Thank you for the clue! I will keep looking :)

EDIT: Wow, think I finally got it. Thought it would take some specialized app, not just a word processor.

So I've been lurking on this thread since it was around a week old and I finally decided to give my props.
I can see yall are getting a lot of hate and a lot more love for your project.
I've got the blog bookmarked of course. I would love to help with this project and I've done a lot of translations myself (only to the point that I alone would know what they mean)
but unfortunately I don't have time to devote to this. =[
Anyway, keep up the fantastic work guys! I can't wait to see some great results!
