okay thanks for the reply
it's just a matter of time and let us hope that we can install priiloader
to block any kind of update's
even if they can update priiloader to work in vwii (right now it just bricks it) there's nothing it can alter in vWii to block updates since all updates come from outside the vWii in the normal Wii U mode.

We would have towait for a priiUloader or something AFter that mode gets hacked

So before I sell my Wii to partly fund buying a Wii U .... from reading on here, would I be correct in saying that the vast majority of my Wii backups are still playable on a Wii U by 'hacking' the vWii mode on the Wii U ?

So I am about to use the Tales of Symphonia hack, but I was wondering about emulators. What are the best emulators for SNES, gamecube, etc on the Wii U? Would they just be the same files that were the best on the Wii?

For most intents and purposes (read: not for the actual files required for hacking - mixing this up could result in bricking), vwii _is_ wii, so yes, the same emulators will be the best. My guess is that once u mode hacks are in full flight there will be emulators more specifically designed for it, maybe that can use the gamepad, etcetera.

Hello! I Need some help lol Sorry for posting this in two threads but I was wonderign is there a way I can run VC Wads or Wii Ware Wads off the SD Card? I actually used (before I knew that trying to alter the system menu ios was more risky in vWii mode than in a regular wii) Dop-Mii in an attempt to install ios 236 and patched ios 80 on my vWii mode and it didnt go through because there was no trucha bug but I am assuming (hopefully correctly) that no damage has been done to my vWii mode because I have noticed zero change lol
What I have done that has worked is install the HBC via smash stack and installed wads of vc games and one wii ware game. All have been working well so far.
The thing I've been looking for all day is...how can I run my VC/Wii Ware Wads off of the SD Card???? (So as to save blocks on my vWii mode) When I try to do it it says failed to launch. For my regular wii I installed ios236 and then used dop mii to install the patched ios 80 (which patches the system menu I later learned) but as it would seem vWii mode is different and messing with the System Menu ios may be more risky than it would be with the regular wii.
BUT the weird thing is TWO of my wads (Mario Party 2 and Wario Ware DIY Showcase) ACTUALLY DO run off the SD Card (after being moved to the SD Card and no longer being present on the system itself) perfectly. Why only these two and not the rest lol...is there a way I can get the rest to play off my SD card in the vWii Mode?

hi ppl. I installed the HBC successfully and now i'm moving on to usb loaders. The files i have on my PC are:

d2x-v10-Beta52-vWii.zip
d2x cIOS Installer v2.2.rar
IOS236 Installer-6c.tar
BlueDump boot.dol
WiiFlow v4.0.5.zip

Can anyone show me what my sd card should look like? I assume i have to open the . rar and .zip files? Also when i tried to copy d2x-v10-beta-vwii.zip to my sd card it gave an error message saying 'please insert the last disk of the multi-volume set and click ok'.

Thanks ppl

No one knows yet what fail0verflow's exploit might be fully capable of, apart from the team themselves and anyone they may have told privately.

Since it's the last day of 29C3, I guess they made no talks. Hoping they'll soon post something more than annoyingly cryptic hashes :P

Sweet, everything is installed and working correctly. I used a different memory card to install the HBC and forgot about creating a new apps folder. Do i need anything else from the HBC installation? On the SD card i have the an apps folder; dump folder and txt; and wii flow folder. Is that all i need? I assume i can delete xyzzy, Fs-toolbox, cios installer from my apps folder now.

I should warn that RetroArch (or any 16/8-bit) emulators look like s**t on the Wii U Wii mode; this is due to how the Wii U scale the Wii resolution, and applies some odd filtering. Games that have the strobe effect look interlaced and not semi-transparent. Had I known this before, I wouldn't have installed HBC on the Wii U Wii mode. Not only that, but it looks blurrier than the Wii itself. What a f***ing joke.

It's just upscaling a 480p signal to 1080p.
