I liked ZombiU and started to get attached to my main character, which finally died after the market part (you get back to your hideout)

So, I got 10 other characters, dying one after the others x__x
I finally beat that part.

I continue playing, find a new gun, lot of items, I'm full of item on my character when suddenly a horde of zombies attack me and I die.
OK, no problem! I can take my old item back... which I never could because the horde attacked my new empty handed player which died too, deleting my previous dead player full of item and WITH MY NEW GUN!

Now, I'm empty handed on each new player, no gun (6 bullets), and the bat.
I ended not caring anymore for my players, I don't care about object, I run into zombies and start a new player, run again, hit as much as I can and try again, etc.
There's no more purpose of playing carefully, as I don't have any item to save.

I was told "you have to go back to your dead player to take your object" but it was a lie.
only ONE previous dead player is kept. You loose your object forever if you die again before taking the object from the previous player.

They could have at least leave the backpack on the floor!

I just died a second time. I managed to get passed my previous spot, killed my Zombie, hack the other machine, then I got up to a part where a punk zombie is freaking out. So I throw a flare to distract them so I can run back to my hideout via the manhole. I throw the flare, click open on a door, and it's fucking loading while there's a hoard coming. So I manage to get inside, I get up to the manhole then boom I get gangbanged. Not too impressed.

I just gotta plan better.

Also are the characters randomly generated? First character I was was named Muhammed, then I was a chick, and now I'm a black guy I think.

Um, What would you think about Paper Mario Sticker Star? Did you like that game? Or just wanted to trade it in just because you don't wanna play it again, and you finished it. Was that the reason why you decided to trade PMSS?

It was boring. It didn't hold my attention long enough for me to give a shit about it. So I traded it towards something worth it.

Oh man, I just got to Buckingham Palace. What was getting to me was on my third character, I kept having to deal with a hoard right outside the safe house. It took me 2 survivors to get through it, and then on my third I managed to kill them all and survive.

Damn this game is good. Hard but good. But the good kind of hard. You can't just go in guns'a blazing, you have to play it safe. If there's more than 2-3 zombies and you have no ammo or distractions to give them, run. Great game, really recommend people pick it up for their WiiU.

oh, you only lost 3 players?
You still have your new gun?

I guess I'm very very bad at FPS.
Even more with Analog Stick to move the view, I'm very very targeting outside of the zombi when I trie to hit. I wish there were Wiimote support.

I think all I have is a pistol, can't remember if I found the rifle.

Wait until you get the crossbow/sniper rifle , then you can zoom and aim using the gyro (and you can reclaim your bolts by looting the corpses).

I'm not sure where I read it, but if you die in the process of trying to retrieve your former character's backpack, that character then moves to somewhere on the internet. Can't recall if that was genuine information from ubisoft, but it seems to hold up. In any case, I've seen quite some zombies actually having names floating over them and having a backpack full of items.

Also: don't forget the cabinets in the safe house can hold excess items. As such, it's best not to carry more than 2 or 3 weapons on your body (you will thank yourself if you get killed far away from shortcuts to the safehouse).

I can reclaim my lost items on the corpses ... if there are corpses.
your character is not part of the corpses which stay on the floor.

I killed my previous character with all my items, and before having the chance to take my item back, I died.
When I came back, only my more recent zombified character was there, my dead character which I didn't get the chance to loot is not there anymore.

The game only keep track of one previous zombified character (zombified or dead on the floor); not all of them.

@shadowSoldier:
The new gun is in the TV/monitor room, on the table.

I didn't even know it was a sniper and you could zoom, I died before using it :(

@wever:
My character can't move to internet, I'm playing offline, I don't have a Nintendo Account.
All the item I had was found on the way from the safe house. I thought "no need to go back now, there's just one zombi, it's ok", but then a hoard came.

But, putting items in the chest, thinking "I might die, it's safer to keep the item here not to loose it", then when will you use it?
It's never safe outside of the chest. you can loose it anytime. not using it at all, it's like not having it anyway.

edit:
If I had internet, then it would be easier, as I could find "missed-rescued" players full of their items.
or full of old players everywhere, making the game harder?

Edit2:
One bad thing:
You can't put items in containers, you can only remove them :(
It could be used as storage places. (not being able to store items on corpses,... ok, but come one! on chests, cases, trashcan, why?)

No, what happens is that the weapons respawn in another (random) area. You'll have to use the CCTV in your hideout to find out where it is.
edit. And the carabine is does not have a scope, at least as far as I know.
You'll get the sniper on the pier.

Omg I died again. This game is so hard. I died in Buckingham Palace after talking to some dude and going up an elevator. I got swarmed. And now I have no idea how I'm supposed to kill those guys. And what's worse, is ALL of my loot is gone now because I died twice.

Don't know if you're still at that point but:
Go into the room at your left right after you leave the elevator, there's a secret passage at the back of the room. Using this passage you'll get to the big room, but one floor up. If you're careful you can lure the zombies one by one into the small room (the one you just exited) and whack them. Be mindful of a couple of things though, the first zombie, the spitter, and the armoured zombie.
Hope it helps (this way worked for me, I finished Buckingham Palace using only the bat).
Edit:
By the way, if you thinkthat part's hard wait until you get to the nursery or the arena (I won't spoil it, but especially the arena can be very difficult, but hey, when you finish that you're almost in the home stretch).

items spawn back in other places?
I'll check if I can find that carabine.

I'm sorry that you lost all your items too :(
Dying twice is very bad.

Hey I'm at the same place as you.
I found the hidden ladder in the first room on the left, and met my spitting friend... (starting from now, all zombie can spit at you, even in older places! like if it wasn't hard enough lol)

I lured the zombies in that room, pass the little passage to the ladder and wait there. The zombies will crawl, profit to kill them easilly while they are on the floor (keep ZR pressed).

Then, I went back to the bottom room, and went in the hall. there's one zombie playing piano

I managed to get to past that part. To the point where I only had to kill a few zombies. But then I got to the door with some code written on the wall, and I died again, I gave up and deleted my save file, I was getting furious so I'm gonna start fresh, it'll help too seeing as how I'm now used to the controls.
