The only difference i know is that one is on wiiu and the other is on ps3.But if your son can be able to just play Blackops2 on the wiiu gamepad its self with no need for a tv.(kinda like having a portable Blackops 2 witch is better.

I don't think there are any differences at all :) Excpet that you can play the game on the gamepad screen on the Wii U and I think you can also play with the Wii Remote and Nunchuck on the screen ;)

Read this article.

Despite the best efforts by the developer who look like they actually tried to get the port right it is still a long way behind. You could blame early development tools. I sincerely hope that is the case. I tend to favor Nintendo over M$ and Sony. I would hate to see the Wii-U rated as just another toy for the kids.

I guess it goes to show the PS3 and 360 were incredibly strong machines for their time.

well thats true , however they have had years to develop this quality on the ps3/360 and havent really bothered to cater to the wiiU's abilities and just ported it with some twin screen gimmicks , i get all this looking through a microscope at it , but im more concerned with playability in the same way they are hooked on it on the ps3 and the fan base on the wiiu compared to the ps3 etc..

Unfortunately it's not looking overly good.

The PS3 and 360 were released 5 - 6 years after the previous gens and out of the box were streaks ahead and just got better.

Out of the box almost 7 years later the Wii-U is lagging a long way behind. Let's just hope it is teething troubles.

Edit:
We all new the Wii was hopelessly under powered on launch but that was cool as it was always marketed as a fun kids and family machine. It sure lived up to it's promises and sold extremely well.

The Wii-U was everyone's hope of Nintendo making a serious gaming console. This is why it has generated so many performance discussions and so far disappointed the crap out of everyone.

The online community isn't as active. It might have gotten better. But the WiiU is new, and chances are people aren't going to buy Blops 2 for it when they first buy the console, unless they buy multiple games. It'll take a while before the WiiU will get an active online like the PS3 and 360 has.

But graphics wise, the WiiU is just a little bit inferior, still looks good. But a real nitpicker can see a bit more jaggies. It's not the systems fault, more the developers fault.

Wii u is actually 2.5 times more power full than ps3/xbox360. Just the fact that the 'gimmick' screen can produce multiple features such as a camera for video chat, a mic to chat, and can play full games on the pad its self. Give it to 2013 and it will have pleny of players on it.The reason that the ps3/xbox 360 is so active is because its been out already for almost 7 years. Just give the wii u a chance, im mean would you rather by blops2 for a Wii or Wii U

Your probably right.

I was just hoping it would be showing some legs early on. Even a small performance advantage would be promising. I am a bit concerned about the apparent lack of CPU power. I guess give it 12 months and it should be performing a lot better.

At first I've seen up to 1000 people logged in to BO2, lately there have been up to 2000 people logged into BO2, I would expect more after Christmas.

For Wii U there is no DLC yet for BO2, and there is also no elite. I hope that changes.

Honestly I've played all of them (Wii U, PS3, X360), and I prefer the X360 the most because the controllers are most comfortable and LIVE is very stable. However, it's all opinionated. The PS3 is good because it has a ton of exclusives and the network is free. The Wii U has the gamepad to play BO2 on, which the other systems don't have.

The Wii U black ops 2 can use all of the Wii controllers too. You can use the Wii remote + nunchuck, which is the reason I bought it, can't use an xbox controller to well with black ops. You can also use the classic controller pro plugged into the wii remote, the Wii U game pad, and the Wii U controller pro.

I just bought a Wii U turtle beach head set, haven't used it yet. It plugs into the game pad and you can use it while using the wii remote+nunchuck. It cost $40 at target. I guess it also works with the 3DS from what the box said.

They were talking about fairly significant frame rate drops during heavy action scenes. Did you notice this when playing the Wii-U version?

I don't anything wrong about black ops 2 on Wii U, except my favorite weapon from MW3 is missing. Wii U online gaming is stable, haven't noticed any problems. There was a patch to fix aiming down the sights with the Wii remote, it was kind of jumpy but seems well now. Once in a while before the game it takes a few extra seconds to get the teams leveled out, but not that often. I guess that was a big problem on PS3 at launch.
