I played 1, was Ok but not great. skipped 2, got Brohood but still no finished it. Skipped Revelations but will get it one day.

Anyway point is AC:L is amazing, I lost touch with the series with Brohood even though it was an amazing game.

I think the new setting has done wonders for the franchise. The female lead, the war as a backdrop.
I'm not sure if I got it because of these new appealing reasons, or just because I NEEDED something to play on Vita. So glad I bought it, and NFS next Week, Silent Hill, Zero Escape, Persona 4! VITAH HAV NO GAMEZ!

Anyway I give it 8/10. Now check these screens I made for your enjoyment.

The 2 Dark Souls ones are my unlock screen and main game BG.
It's my bday in 3 days and am getting the prepare to die to edition for more punishment, just wish it has more achievements and that it would last more than 10 hours. Devs saying 10 hours usually means 6-8 but for £19.99 I can't complain!

I have to say that I have not experienced any slowdown at all.
Also I spent more than 10 hours beating the game, but that's probably because I was doing some collecting along the way.
The most frustrating thing is that there is a huge bug that deletes your save file randomly.
It seems to occur more easilly when you complete a collection.
It happened to me right after I got all brooches.

I've run into the infinite load screen bug whilst going to bayou.
The patch is meant to be out already but it's not for me yet.
Really annoying this game needed another year in dev. Still great though :/

Hmm.. still waiting for mine in the mail. Shame I was looking forward to this as I haven't gone into any AC series at all.

Are people still getting bugs even after have the patch installed?

Supposedly the patch fixes the save file glitch but you have to start the game from the start.
Patch still not out for Europe so I can't even play the game.
Just hope it fixes the infinite load screen problem I have without resetting my progress.
I'm playing Zero Escape now and a lot of Silent Hill. Really want friends for mp Silent Hill as I've never found a game online and if I make a lobby no one ever joins. Playing alone is a grind fest I'm playing the same zones over and over.
It's a shame as it's a really good game I just don't think there are enough people playing it.
If you have it add me psn is ThugETH.

So far I've loved AC:L on my Vita. It's actually a huge improvement over the previous mobile installments of the series, since Liberations is almost like the original series. Now if only I got ACIII from somewhere for cheap :3

It's not a bad game, but it's really let down by the forced gimmicks and a few bad design choices. Pickpocketing is much too complicated and the "shine a light on the camera" minigame is far too finicky, plus I'm not a fan of how they scrapped the income and reduced prices that renovating shops used to bring. Due to money being so difficult to come by (the ship management mini-game isn't very lucrative), I still haven't upgraded most of my stuff and I'm pretty sure there aren't many hours left in the game.

That said, it is quite fun. The areas aren't particularly huge, but they're large enough and there's plenty to do (I prefer smaller maps with more in them than large maps with everything spread out). Combat is still largely automated like the console games but Aveline is clearly no Ezio and it shows, which is really good. Exploration is fun as always, as is just running across the rooftops. The use of multiple personae is rather nifty, although I must admit I spend as much time in the Assassin persona as possible, and I like how each one has different collectables. I do also like the ship management mini-game - it's kinda fun, sending ships off to deliver goods and making you money... If only they made you more.

I'd say the only other thing worth mentioning is the down right terrible implementation of Citizen E. The first time one shows up is confusing enough, but then I only saw a second one yesterday in some random part of New Orleans - even then all I got was a warning that Citizen E had been spotted and a green area on the map to narrow down the search. Having killed them, all I got was a rather pointless scene that I don't see any benefit from.

For an attempt at making a home console quality experience on the Vita, the developers nailed many things. A few choices are suspect, but generally speaking it's a good game.

I have the Assassin's Creed bundled Vita, because I wanted the white system (lol). I've been wanting to get into the AC series for awhile. Is it necessary to have played II (my boyfriend and best friend both tell me to skip I) and the other AC games before popping in this one? Do all of you think its worth keeping, or should I trade it in toward something else?

AC3L is more like a spinoff with little connection to the home console version of AC3. No its not necessary to play previous AC if you are starting with AC3L. I liked it since it was my entry game to AC series. Just be prepared that the game still glitchy even after the patch =/

Big tip for all who struggle with the light gimmick part of letters. You don't need to shine your vita to a light. The gyrosensors/camera just need to be facing upwards to the sky (or ceiling if you're inside) and viola! it works. It works fine in the dark also. I've done this multiple times.

Citizen E quests are usually random and in conjunction to the story of where you are at the moment (I think). If you are able to kill all of them you unlock a true ending, which I've never attempted because its so difficult to know where to trigger one.

It's an okay game but I found the controls to be very frustrating at times when it's tied to time limits. You're going to feel it when it's canoe time!

ACII and the following games related to it (AC: Brotherhood and AC: Revelations) are easily some of the best games I've played. It's not mandatory, but they have a very interesting story (at least the first two :P) and excellent gameplay. Haven't played ACIII yet (finals at uni at the moment), but AC:Liberations has received a few hours worth of love. More than I expected (and hoped.. so long finals!).

As for the original AC, it's a solid game, but the mechanics aren't as refined as with ACII and the newer ones after that. A bit more difficult in the gameplay section, but nevertheless an important part of the story.

Thanks, Icealote and Qtis! I think I'll pop in the game after I finish Persona 4 the Golden. (P4 is the reason I got my Vita. lol)

I just got the game myself. I'm still rather early in but some observations:
  • It doesn't seem to have the issues of Bloodlines, it really feels like a portable Assassin's Creed without compromises. Not much else to say about that but great visuals. I wouldn't say it looks as good as Uncharted but it's pretty damn close.
  • Beginning does have some pacing issues. I do find it a bit counterproductive that they introduce the game and immediately stick you in a bunch of lady persona missions, where there's like no combat, no parkour, nothing the franchise is known for. However...
  • It does mix a bit more of actual stealth. The lady persona segments are pretty interesting in that it's not your standard "Run on rough tops beat up bad guys" thing. Like actually have to do some stealth, like Metal Gear Solid shit. Whether you want this in your Assassin's Creed game or not is entirely opinion.
I'll be playing more in the coming days. Otherwise though, seems like a quality game.

I suggest going back and playing 2 (as its the intro to ezio's story and continues into brotherhood and revelations) and is one of the best (if not best) in the series
the psp one was terrible
