Hello,
I've been having this problem with my 3DS. Everytime I try to run a connection test, it fails, the 3DS connects with the access point(it's Dlink btw) but gives me a cross when the access point connects to the little globe thingy. What's strange is that the browser works. No luck with eshop either.
I can't update my system aswell. :/
I tried googling for an answer, one of the solutions was to change the primary and seconday DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, but that didn't work either.
I even changed my region, still got the same error code. :c
I followed the steps Nintendo had to offer of their help site and even that didn't work.
Sooooo, help? :x
Please? :x

yea i had something like this with my WiiU
its the routers fault
i updated the firmware on the router and just moved the console closer
always best to change the security every now and then also
I just checked, my firmware is the latest. :c
My 3DS connects fine with my cousin's wifi, in fact I used that to update my 3DS 3-4 months back.
Out of 100 times I tried connecting to the eshop, it did connect once, but it told me to get a system update to which I agreed and then it just stopped working again.

have you tried changing the security and password
also make sure you change the SID of the device
I tried doing that, still the same error code.

Have u tried to Port Forward the 3DS? or DMZ?
No, I don't even know what port forward or DMZ means. .-.

EDIT: Okay, so I did a little bit of searching and gave port forwarding a try. Still getting the error code. *sigh*
I even tried disabling the router's firewall, no dice. :/

Got the same exact problem.. tried everything from static ip, port forwarding, DMZ, even opening the router firewall
can't connect to eShop, firmware update, friend register, netflix, etc, etc; but connects perfectly on internet browser

not a password problem because i'm 100% sure it's an open connection..
also, my router is Linksys WAG54G2 firmware v1.00.19

FIXED IT! ^_^
All I had to do was unplug the modem, then unplug the router. After that plug in the modem first, wait for it to reboot and then plug in the router, wait for it to reboot and now it works.

Neither install method works for me, changing DNS results in a connection error, so youtube is out. When loading from ninjhax the installer gives me the C8804465 error.

[edit] If you get the C8804465 error when running from ninjhax, try reinstalling ninjhax. It worked for me.
