If it's detected by your 360 then yes it will work.

As far as broken Xbox 1 support.
You can inject the emulator files into your HDD.
You can use this tutorial to do it.
Just skip to the Xbox emulator part ;]

Any chance of a banning on Live? You're the resident 360 expert (you and Devin, anyway) and I was curious if the 3rd party drives have anything in them that set off flags at Microsoft.

Thanks.

Nope. Works just like a normal HDD, and no one that I know of has been banned for using a third party HDD. (Probably just a normal WD Scorpion HDD flashed with a Microsoft 320 HDD bin file using HDDHackr.)

As long as you followed that tutorial correctly and replace the firmware on the drive like they say to, you should have no trouble with Xbox Live. The two are quite unrelated. You are cloning an original xbox hard drive so to speak.

EDIT: If you own a X360USB Pro you can follow this guide which is a lot simpler.

It's already flashed, Dinoh was just referring to the injecting Xbox 1 support files into the HDD.

I understand, I was just letting him know he won't be flagged for this :]

Also, if anyone is curious how to bypass the limitations in the built in Xbox1 Emulator, you need a JTAG'd Xbox 360, and a few files.

You might get banned for this by directly calling MS support and saying you hacked your HDD.
Whilst you're at it you might also tell them you injected your own save files and Xbox emulator files into the HDD

I hardly doubt that they actually ban you for it but no.

You can't get banned cause you inject the security sector into a off the shelves 2.5 inch WD HDD.
MS does the exact same thing (other then they do it on a mass scale and they just program it instead of hacking it)

Aha I see that, but he doesn't need to go through the tutorial again. Wouldn't want him to have to go through that process when it's already been done for him. You know? Heh you post sorta signifies that he should do everything in that tutorial.

(Also thanks for linking me to that guide. I once had to flash a HDD for my own use, and it would have been so much easier to use that guide rather than play with my PC's Sata ports.)

I agree, do not go through the tutorial again xD. Sorry if I was not clear on that, I am just offering the information I have on the topic.

I recommend anyone who uses 360 drives to transfer info, to download the latest version of Party Buffalo. It is the best FATX explorer I know of.

I've read through the Xecuter thread.
It's pretty similar to the one from Digiex but I personally prefer the latter.

More detailed and it also shows how to inject the emulator files/save games ;]

Why would you need to inject Xbox1 compatability files into the new hard drive. wouldnt a format create the proper 1/2/3 partitions since the xbox360 thinks its a retail hdd and playing a xbox1 game download the xb1 compat files from xbl?. as far as i know, only jtags need this done if you you a larger harddrive and no hddss.bin.
someone correct me if i am wrong but i do not remember doing that to get xbox1 games working on my 250GB hdd that i flashed with hddhackr 250gb hd with the 250HB hddss.bin. I have been using the 250GB hdd since the 250gb hddss.bin was dumped and am still not banned or flagged on xbox live.

You might be right on it but honestly I don't know if the emulator partition gets updated via XBL.
I've always restored it by injecting the files but since I got a 320 GB harddisk I could try it out.
Hack it and then do nothing but connect to XBL and see what happens.
