dee200 the olny 7th gen console that has been emulated is the wii only cuz it is a low cpu speed
the emulater rule is you must have x9 to more speed to run the game with no problems and x5 to run fine x3 to run it

Do take note that the Wii has missed a huge amount of multi-plat games that have been released on the PS3/360 (and possibly for the PC). The chart is accurate in the fact that the Wii does have exclusive games, but it does miss the other games because of the limited capabilities of the Wii hardware.

Personally I've got a PS3 and a Wii from this gen consoles (total list in signature), but mostly spend my time with the PS3 (actually Netflix most of the time nowadays since I don't have enough time ATM for the longer games :/).

As said about hackability, easy for 3.55 or lower. Close to impossible/ver hard for 3.56+

ps. The list posted by suppow doesn't include newer games. Check metacritic.com for games that you want to play and then decide if YOU want to buy a ps3. I've had it for about 2 years as my own console and in total about 3.5 years as my brother had the console before me when he was my roommate.

yeah, the image - which i found (i didnt make it) - is only (and it says so) for exclusives, and it's kinda outdated.
but for me the deciding factor in consoles has been the exclusives,
multiplatform games i'm just fine playing on PC.

personally, for this gen, i really looked into it at first and conidered all consoles to be sure,
and i ended up getting a wii and a 360, the 360 i barely ever play, i mostly play the wii, or handhelds (gba or ds), everything else on steam.
i considered ps3 vs 360, but went for 360 in the end, mostly couse ms has rare just in case lol.
two things i really like about the ps3 though are the free PSN online play,
and the online store, kinda like steam.
those two are great, the games i dont like so much =/

edit:
as for the wii missing on most non-exclusives, i think that applies to all of nintendo history lol

Bumping because this has become a relevant question for me as well.

There are a couple of PS3 games I'd be interested in and now I'm wondering if it's worth getting one so late in its lifespan. I'm tilting towards it, with an advantage being the lower price now it's a few years old as well as the fact that the games are already released.

It probably is. You can get 500 GB PS3 for good prices now and a lot of good games out there are available for pretty cheap prices now. I can make a list of worthwhile games that retail for less than £20 now. Whilst it may be on the way out, there's still a good library of games out there particularly with the exclusives which provide a nice balance among different genres.

I'd go for it if I didn't have one already. There are tons of 3-in-1 game packets for Uncharted, Infamous (2 games, but still), Resistance, Killzone, etc. It's a great console and it works as a bluray/netflix player. Double the fun! My current PS3 game collection is starting to be huge, but there are still great games coming out for it. Also the PSX game compatibility is a good addition. Some PS2 games are also out on PSN.

Second hand games (especially older ones) can be found dirt cheap. Newer ones tend to have online passes or something similar to limit second hand trading (though most games are around £10-20 anyways at places like play.com, zavvi.com/thehut.com, etc.). Also free multiplayer!

I thought about it for a few days from now then went back to about an hour ago and got one.

Thanks for the suggestions that were going to be made soon.

Might be a good idea. Need For Speed Most Wanted I certainly want to get; F1 2012 too, but other than that there might not be many I can think of.

Wipeout HD/Fury too, though; I should receive that for free as I got the DLC for 2048. That includes the PS3 games with it, and vice versa.

Oh, maybe the Force Unleashed games too...haven't played the first on a console yet, or the second at all.

At the GAME I work at, you can get a 500GB PS3 with Uncharted 3:GOTY, Gran Turismo 5 and either Need for Speed: Most Wanted or Hitman Absolution for £260. Which is pretty reasonable with all things considered.

I've probably used mine more for BluRay than games, but I'm still glad I got one. If I hadn't, I never would've been able to play the inFamous games.

You can't send me a discounted copy of Most Wanted, can you? :creep:

Based on what you're offering I would love to. But I'm not actually allowed to anything like that.

I wanted to see p1ng do a silly dance :(
Don't worry; I had a feeling you couldn't.

Ashame it's not CrossBuy, though if it were that might only work if you buy the PS3 game and then get Vita, as opposed to buying the Vita version and earning the PS3's.

Well, I thought about it today, went back and got one at the start of the week (back in time to Monday; posted about it while I was still there), so that's that. Wipeout HD/Fury, F1 2012, GT5 and Most Wanted. Thanks, all.

My ID is still the same as my Vita's (PKSeven), if anyone is interested, though do tell me who you are if you send me a request.
