i only used my lan adapter when i didn't have wi-fi access from where i was living. the only problem i had with the adapter was; one less usb port.

i can't tell you if it changes lag or bandwith, since i don't know. tell us the difference. i'd recommend the ebay way to save some cash and order from japan.

I recommend spending the money on a better router, because at the end of the day, that's the most vital part of your home network. If you have lag, it can be due to one of two reasons - low signal or the ISP. First you can fix, the other requires changing ISP's.

Wii games are designed to work with wireless, you can blame the lag on any component but not the Wii itself. Ethernet cables are inconvenient and should be avoided when they're not necessary.

The Wii's wireless card is pretty weak so you're likely to experience lag if the router is far from the Wii and if the signal has to go through walls. If your Wii is near the router and you're experiencing lag, check your router/ISP, your router might be bad or your ISP isn't serving the speeds it promised you. If the router is far, just get the lan adapter, you'll get lower latency and higher speeds, just don't go cheap on the ethernet cable.

Make sure you buy the Monster Cable gold-plated video gaming grade HDMI cables that are 1080p,3D,and 7.1 Surround certified too then.

Edit: wait, why do all of my cheap cables do that stuff, they don't advertise it on the packaging...

I do not like your attitude at all, I in no way implied that he get monster cable crap. What I meant is not getting an old cable (anything below cat5e).
