Hi, I think there is no thread yet about this game so I decided to create this one. The main point of this thread is ... well... making people know that this game exists. UPDATE: And now, also informing about it's fan-made translation.
Digimon Adventure (デジモンアドベンチャー Dejimon Adobenchā) is a Digimon video game for the PlayStation Portable based on the anime series of same title. It is the third part of Digimon's fifteenth anniversary. The game covers the entire series, and the Our War Game! movie. After completing the game's main story, an original story featuring the protagonists from the other Digimon series can be played. Early copies of the game will come with a "Digivice Ver. PSP" that can be downloaded to the PSP.
Release date: January 17, 2013.

Stuff about modding, translation, etc.
0) I know, kinda stupid that I make a list and I put a "zero" item, but... whatever . If you want to help, you don't need to be an expert. If you are, then awesome. But you don't have to be a "complete noob" either, what do I mean? I mean that you kinda have to know some basic things like, for example, what an ISO is, but most important: you've gotta know how to use Google and use it good. It would be a waste of time trying to explain things like, how to extract a .rar file; here we should talk about more advanced stuff (for example, exclusive PSP formats, converters, text editors for games, etc)
1) You'll have to find the ISO of the game by yourself, it can't be posted here. There may be many versions of the ISO; you should try to get the one made from the UMD without any rip, patch (for making it compatible with older CFWs) or anything.
2) Once you have it, you'll need to extract the ISO (you can use UltraISO or a similar program), and then in the USRDIR you'll have a .CPK file. That file contains basicly everything from the game. However, you'll need to extract it first. You'll have to use a program called "CriPackedFileMaker" which you can get here: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?jwygidgmvdw (just drag the CPK file into the program and extract it). You'll have a LOT of files without extension. Those files are parts of the game. We still don't know what every ID file contains, but here's what we have discovered so far:
*GMO models are from ID00515-ID03518 (To open them, you'll have to use the program Gitmo, which you can get here: http://www.richwhitehouse.com/filemirror/gitmo11.zip ), or you can extract the models with JPCSP (as it says here)
*GIM files are from ID00000 to ID00514, excluding: ID00002,25,30,51,98.
*ID03117 and ID03118 have a list of english characters, katakana and hiragana characters.
What appears to be the menu is on ID03841 (the last one)
*Sound and music files:
ID03693.afs2 = 31 Music Files
ID03840.afs2 = 10.000 Sound Effects/Voices
(use quickbms and the afs2 script to unpack, they are encoded with Atrac3Plus and you'll need the codec (search it on google)). Thanks to the user Falo for telling us about this! (and also thanks for having created an useful tool for the translation!!). After all that you'll get files with ".neo" extension. If you want to convert them to at3 or mp3 you should follow the great tutorial that the user omarrrio made
*PMF files are from ID03634-ID03691 (It's more convenient to order them by size; except the two on the top, from ID03693 up to ID3638 are the .pmf files). These kind of files can just be played with Media Player Classic, but they won't reproduce the sound (because the sound is in AT3 format). Here's a list of what correspond to each PMF file:
Let's say that you modded a ID file, and now you want to test it out in your PSP to see if it worked or not. You're gonna need to repack everything, and you'll do that by the same program you used before to unpack the CPK file. I want to thank the user silverwolf689 for providing a description of how to do that. In order to repack the CPK file, you need to make sure that it's uncompressed, filename is disabled, id is enabled, and data alignment is set to 2048. Doing that will let it repack and the resulting iso will boot up. It should look like this
3) Technically, redubing the game (changing the japanese voices to any other language) is illegal because it's the modification of copyrighted content. That doesn't mean that we can't talk about that here, and help each other, but we can not upload any game file or the modified ISO. However, a patch is different: a patch is something that does not contain files from a game, it just applies TO a game (technically a patch by itself isn't ilegal, but a patched game is). So basicly if people start working in a text translation patch and help each other, they can upload their progress here if they want to, so that someone else can continue the work or whatever (but that can't be done with a redub)
4) If you can read the pages of this thread before asking something, it would be great. However, if this thread gets like 200 pages and you want to know something then I think you can just ask directly (I'd check the last 3 pages, just in case, but that's just me )

Want to know how to redub the game to any language?
HERE I explain how to do it (it just works for cutscenes, not for the "gameplay" sections).
If you redub, you are doing it under your own resposability (and if you're going to upload any redubed material that you created, which you shouldn't, I'd recommend to use a proxy); the final product should not be distributed due to copyright infringement.
That means: don't post redubed ISOs or even patches (I mean patches that make the game being redubbed, not the text patches) in this thread, and you shouldn't do that in any other website either.
This "legal" stuff is discussed by the users in pages 27 and 28(do not bring up that topic again please), you should take a look at those pages if you're considering redubing.
