Gaming What are your thoughts on Halo 4?

Surprised I haven't seen a thread like this yet. But whatever, there is one now.

Exactly what the title says. What are your thoughts on Halo 4 thus far? I only played the first level on the campaign on Heroic (I'm not much on an online gamer and I don't have Live, but I might use the free 2-week Live trial that came with the game), but I'm seriously loving the game so far. I love the new gameplay mechanics, and the new composer impressed me more than I expected. It also feels a bit tougher than any other Halo game I've played thus far.

What do you think?

I don't know how you people marathon the game in a day, though... that would depress me beyond belief, so I like to take it slow.

Game has been leaked about 4 weeks in advance. Dinoh, a few Tempers, and I have already beat the game a few times over.

Took me less then 8ish hours I think? to finish the campaign.


None the less it's an incredibly good game.

Only downside is the annoying battle near the end of the game.
Died like 20 times cause some wanker with a Fuel rod gun kept blasting at me and 2 Wraiths where on me tail.

Don't spoil it for me with any details, but is there a true boss battle or something similar in the end? One thing that's always disappointed me about previous Halos was that the final battle always felt lackluster. Halo 1 was just to escape, Halo 2 had a cool bossfight but the ending was abrupt, Halo 3's endgame was a copypasta of Halo 1, and Halo Reach's endless firefight, while cool, didn't feel like a true endgame to me.

Sane. I showed up at 10PM, and the line was already pushed WAYYYYY out. To give you an idea of how long, I was in one of the last groups of people to be given that redeem card that GameStop does before they started shooing people away.

I can't really speak for you since I personally liked Reach (though it wasn't my favorite), but I LOVELOVELOVE Halo 4 so far. Definitely worth dusting off the Xbox for!

since i tried the first release i never become a fan of the series. even when i watched videos and informed me about the next releases. but this one is really really good in my opinion. Nice landscapes with good light effects and amazing sound effects. About final boss, cant tell, didn't end game yet. But i can guaranty that each level (so far) has a nice different challenge
