I know that gamecube games can't run off a USB, just to set that record clear.

I have a nice 1TB HDD that i want to use to store my GameCube games onto, but when i go into custom paths i can only select SD?

Some settings that might help:

My HDD is NTFS(not FAT32, heard it doesn't matter)

Multiple Partitions is on (just in case)
and both ports are on

i don't get why i can't make the path to my USB, why am i stuck picking my low SD card

"I know that gamecube games can't run off a USB, just to set that record clear."
Your thread title is very misleading.

"I have a nice 1TB HDD that i want to use to store my GameCube games onto, but when i go into custom paths i can only select SD?"
What does custom paths on USB Loader GX have to do with storing your Gamecube games onto your 1 tb hard drive? Just copy your gamecube games into whatever folder/directory you please on your 1TB HDD.
If you don't have any ISO formats of your GC games, just the discs. You are going to need to load a separate Wii app that dumps GC games to an USB drive. I don't think USB Loader GX does that.

"My HDD is NTFS(not FAT32, heard it doesn't matter)"
Not sure where you heard it doesn't matter but it does.
A Fat32 file system is compatible with all Wii applications and is more stable. As a bonus Fat32 is also compatible with Linux, PS3, MAC, etc.

"Multiple Partitions is on (just in case)

and both ports are on"
What do you mean by this?
How many partitions do you have?
Is the hard drive you are trying to use with your Wii set to active and primary, is it the 1st partition?

"i don't get why i can't make the path to my USB, why am i stuck picking my low SD card"
I use CFG but I remember when I was using GX that I ran into this problem, and it is possible to have your USB HD set as the path. Just search around in the settings some more. (Such as nand emulation for Rock Band songs) But I forget. Either way I do not understand how you got USB Loader GX and storing Gamecube games mixed together like this.

I am just going to take a guess at your title
USB LOADER GX - GAMECUBE OFF USB
USB Loader GX will not show any gamecube games if they are stored on your USB Drive.
USB Loader GX will not load any gamecube games if they are stored on your USB Drive.
If you know that GC games can not be loaded from USB then why is your title "USB LOADER GX - GAMECUBE OFF USB". Doesn't make a lot of sense...

When you select Main Gamecube Path, a menu to choose the path should pop up, with a (potentially empty) list of folders, and three buttons along the bottom of the screen: OK, usb1 (or possibly sd, if the hard drive is already selected), and Cancel. Clicking usb1 should bring you to the hard drive. Are you able to get to that menu, and what's happening when you try to press the usb1 button?

Sorry if i was unclear of what i was trying to do

In total i have three inputs
1USB(HHD) for my wii games
2USB(HHD)for other stuff (HMWK, GAMES, MUSIC, ETC)
3SD used for WiiWare And VC

what i wanted was to install gamecube games onto my 2nd usb but i couldn't get the wii to locate it, when i used my best friend google i found out i needed d2x v9+ ... i was on d2x v8

i wasn't too clear on my topic and i'm sorry, but i did manage to fix my own problem, if only i googled before i wrote this

I think USB Loader GX was intended to be an "all in one" Wii app.
So that way you wouldn't have to launch / have another app on your SD card to back up your Gamecube games.
Seems semi-useful to me.
And with DML and hopefully DM on the way, it may some day integrate DML/DM support. (Does it already?, I don't know)
So you dump the GC game and then load it from the same loader. (Assuming it can dump to the SD Card.)
Just another feature, no point really.

USB Loader GX copies the GC games from USB to SD, and then uses DML to load the GC games from the SD card.

USB Loader GX can dump the GC Game to SD or USB (to the "GC Main Path" defined in the settings).
It then allows you to launch the games if they are on SD, or ask you to transfer the selected one from USB to SD before launching it.

It's currently launching GameCube games only from SD, as DML only allows that method for the moment.
