All you have to do is put it in your computer using a card reader with two 32GB microSD cards and format it into Fat32. Proof that it works, lol.

And in case you miss the biggest evidence of all

Now the real question is how well will it read two 64GB cards... 120GB of space on a PSP, that would just be insanely crazy, LOL!
That kind of space on ANY gaming handheld is beyond necessary. :P (well, MAYBE not for the Vita if someone were to download a lot of games)
No its not. The more space the better.

Having a 16GB myself, I can't find any real reason, other than carrying an unreasonable amount of games, to have any size bigger than 32GBs honestly.

I have a 16GB for my PSP and I found I need more space since I only have about 1GB left and there is what 5 games being released in May I want to take with me as well.

I tried with the PhotoFast CR-5400 dual microSD card slot MS Pro Duo Adapter, plugged in two 32GB MicroSD cards... needless to say, it only saw 40-somethingGB (don't remember exactly, it was a few months ago when I was curious) on my PSP, and didn't work that well. I'd suggest sticking under the verified 32GB mark to ensure data loads/saves properly and doesn't corrupt itself.

Do you *really* need 64GB on a PSP though :)
The fact that it showed up doesn't mean that it worked - I'm pretty sure that if you attempted filling it up beyond 32Gb it would spit out a read/write error.

Actually, the OFW limit is 256GB according to wololo.net (2TB with 5.00 M33). Also, the only difference between most SDXC cards and SDHC is the size and default filesystem. In fact, the only reason SDXC exists at all is because Microsoft does not allow formatting any partition larger than 32GB as FAT. So yes, you could use two 64MB SDXC cards if you had the right adapter. Or for even more overkill you could even use a 200GB solid state hard drive (though making a Pro Duo to SATA adapter won't be easy).

It's not Microsoft's silly imagination - FAT32 as a standard doesn't allow a partition larger then 32GB due to its structure. Seeing that the adapters on the market are SDHC-Compatible only, you won't be able to create such a contraption. If you believe that this setup would indeed work then get two 32GB cards and put them in a Photofast, although I do warn you, it's not going to work. I believe Photofast has *correct* specifications of *their* product.

Disregard my post, apparently I've been proven wrong. :)

Actually, it is. FAT32 can actually handle partitions up to 2TB. In fact, I have a 1TB drive formatted entirely as FAT32 hooked up to my Wii right now. You just need to use fat32format/guiformat, MacOS X, or Linux to format it that way. As for photofast, I don't know why they haven't made an adapter that works with larger cards since recent OFW has a 256GB limit.

Don't think sdxc cards come in 64mb size.

Yes, that should be 64GB, not MB.

Microsoft right there states up to 2 TB.

They limit it to 32GB artificially, to push NTFS I assume.

I'm pretty sure this actually has to do more with the default cluster size of SDHC cards, plus, legacy compatibility with pre-SP2 Windows XP-Embedded systems but I may be wrong here.

but there isn't a file bigger than 32GB to transfer at once anyway.

No, that doesn't matter. On FAT32 an individual file is limited to 4GB. However, a FAT32 partition can be up to 2TB in size though Microsoft put a limit on the Windows formatting tool that limits the creation of new FAT32 filesystems to 32GB. If you make a larger partition as NTFS or even unformatted you can then use fat32format/guiformat to make it in FAT32 format. Very useful if you want to have a bunch of games/videos on an external hard drive for your PS3/Wii as neither system can write to NTFS partitions (read support for NTFS is experimental as well).

I'm thinking Sony hasn't issued 64GB sticks due to marketing reasons. They could cost 250 bucks or more at the hideous official Memory Stick Pro Duo cost per GB. Not likely to sell at all, especially in our dying western PSP market.

Except PSP's aren't the only device that accepts sticks and Sony's capable to issue even up to 2 terabyte sticks (XC series). Not sure what's the largest one around nowadays, but the standard has been set in motion back in 2009.

So if a 2 terabyte stick was made in theory the PSP could use it no problems?

Nope. The current firmware has a capacity limit of about 256 gigabytes as far as I know. That said, as far as I know, XC sticks are backwards-compatible (but they are formatted in exFAT by default, not sure if the PSP accepts that at this point).

Oh well atleast its nice to know that the PSP can support 256GB even though a 256GB memory stick doesn't exist :glare: Well that clears up my theory, oh well I guess my PSP will always be limited to 32GB D:

I've seen PSP's running twin-32 gigabyte SD's no problem. The question isn't if your PSP supports it - it does, since 6.20 I believe. The question is, will your adapter support it? From what I've heard, legitimate twin-slots do, fakes have issues, but I have no way of validating that as I don't have two 32 gigabyte SD's.

Yea but i'm actually using a MSPD and they got a 32GB limit but yea using a real adapter would work.
