Are any places giving out any bonuses with this game? Any special Collector's Editions or items of some sort? My demo is waiting back at home, haven't had a chance to give it a spin yet, just wondering where I should buy this from in the US ^_^

The footage is pretty low-quality. I'll wait until we get some good footage before judging.

Or when I get the game myself! .-.

No, AFAIK, there aren't any deals or bonus editions for this game. :/

I'm at school right now. My copy is waiting for me at home.

edit

"Commencing virtuous mission...now"

Game comes with a small booklet, simply pointing out the controls, both with and without the CPP, in English, French, and Spanish. Also has an in-game manual like the rest of the games do.

Just picked up the game, very excited :D
That's great. Does it have an in-game manual (access from Home menu) or is it only a packaged one?

It comes with a packaged one as well as in-game, but only explains the controller/button scheme. The packaged manuel is flimsy as they used 4 pages to decribed the contents. The other pages is for other languages.

My review of the game:

Let's talk about how well the game loooks graphically. It's beautiful during gameplay. I've been playing the HD collection of MGS3 for the past few days and Snake Eater 3D clearly is "brighter" than the HD version. It is definitely better than Peace Walker making this game the best graphically MGS game to date on a handheld. Their seems to be some sort of buffer issues (?) for the framerate as it might seemed slowed down in some parts of the cut scenes. I've noticed the 3D effect looks kinda funny and I mean in the terms of "cloudy" or "grainy." It's sort of hard to tell when you watch some of the first cutscenes, but it may not bother you too much. The in-game cut scenes are flawless however.

Gameplay. What has changed? A lot actually! One of the biggest things to note for this game is that is uses bottom screen icons to act as "shortcuts" to access various options like feeding yourself, camo, map, etc. Instead of pressing the Start button, you can access the features easily, which makes the game a bit more enjoyable.
Secondly, I'd like to point out the AI in this game. It is no longer the "super stealthy" MGS games we have known. You used to run up behind soldiers and they would turn around at the last second if your camo index wasn't high enough, but this is no longer the case. Snake Eater 3D has dimmed down the AI much like Peace Walker. It is very easy to sneak up on any soldier and they won't hessitiate to turn around. I am not sure if this would piss fans off or not, but I have come to love it. The reason why I loved Peace Walker so much was because the game had a lot of limitations to allow you to practically "run and gun." Peace Walker was a loose game, but still had that MGS feeling and sneaky objective; it's exactly the same thing for MGS Snake Eater.
Thirdly, crouch walking! If you've played MGS3 before then you know you weren't able to crouch and walk at the same time, but this has changed. You can now walk and crouch as the same time making sneaking up on enemies much easier and makes the gameplay again much more enjoyable now that some of the limitations have been fixed.

Any complaints? A little. The presentation of the game is pretty weak. Their is no start menu options, but only to start a new game. You must start a new game to do anything in the game. The start menu is plain, pretty boring (definitely not as cool as the HD collection menu). All other complaints I have are listed in the review.

Final comments:
MGS is a bad ass series. Whether you're a die hard fan, someone lookin for a shooter game for the 3DS, or just need a new series to start; this would be it. The 3DS version of this game is great because of portability and is considered one of the best games in history (or so I keep telling myself :P).

Final Rating: 8.7/10.

Nintendo World Report uploaded an hour of clear footage of the game.

Oh and CheatCC awarded the game a 4.7/5 while Gameinformer gave it a 75%.

I was going to get too. After the demo though, I pretty much gave up the thought of purchasing it. The framerate issue is the only thing stopping me at the moment.

Don't know why, must have been some random crash. Just beat The Pain, so far so good.
Now that you've got far enough in the game, have you experienced any serious framerate issues?

Yeah, during gameplay. The framerate will slow down in some huge areas, but you have to consider with the amount of pixels and textures to load was even a problem for the PS2, so I kinda expected it. Not as smooth as the HD collection.

I'm in the labratory to save Sokolov now and I've at least set off the alarm 100 times. Sometimes for the hell of it or because they spotted me, but the framerate is not very good when going up against more than 5 NPC (non-player characters) enemies. Again, it doesn't hinder from playing the game that much, but it is noticable

Shoud you care? No way! It is amazing to be in the jungle in 3D! Swimming under water is pretty intense and I got the old thrill of when I used played it years ago.

Can you give an estimate of the average framerate throughout the game?

Ugh, as I progress more and more through the game, it gets worst. Beat The End and The Fury, which both lagged super hard because of 1) being in a big area for The End and 2) The Fury's flamethrower would make you lag a bit.

Poor framerate is pretty consistent throughout the game, which makes it a bit of a bummer. Hasn't really stopped me, and I've been enjoying the game a lot.

Hopefully some more of you guys pick up the game. Yeah the frame rate is totally crappy, but in essence it doesn't bother me.
As a reminder it comes out 3/8 for Europe.

the only framerate issues i have seen are in cutscenes. i honestly do not see what people mean the game has bad framerate when playing it normally.

Edit: now to kill The Boss. this is gonna be fun.
