I want.... x_x

I really hated re:coded though, awful game.

Both the DS games were kinda crap honestly. Even as a "non-Kingdom Hearts fan", it was just really poorly designed. 358/2 was so repetitive that it was sad. Like literally there was a small selection of enemies and worlds that you'd end up doing constantly. Plus the story is, well, a Kingdom Hearts story so its terrible unless for some reason you like that sort of thing.

The had the right idea with a co-op mode but I think they dropped it in Re:coded so what's the point?

Also I find it funny that they'd re-release the spin off games (arguably the spin offs no one really liked as much, exception being 3D which isn't released yet) instead of just doing a HD collection of 1/2 and maybe Re:Chain of Memories.

Also the games themselves cost probably $100, I don't see myself paying $80 for art cards and a faceplate, especially when two of the games aren't even that good.

358/2 Days was hit or miss for me, it was fun at times though could also very tedious. But i quite enjoyed ReCoded in terms of gameplay. Story was mostly worthless except for the final world, but it was fun to play. I haven't really ever played a KH game that i downright disliked though, even the worst of them have been pretty fun.

KH3D is in the same vein as BBS, it's on par with KH1 and KH2 in terms of plot and the gameplay looks great. It's definitely not a spinoff or side game. Won't be getting this bundle though, i'll just get KH3D when it releases normally (this bundle might not hit US anyways lol).

lol, people were expecting something definitive from Re:Coded? that's from a mobile game, for crying out loud. who'd wanna put story on those?

i enjoyed Days though. although i never did got around to finishing it. ah, my poor life. i will probably never finish my entire backlog before i die. there's just not enough time in a day to play all i want. i mostly have to borrow time from the following day just to get my fill. hence, my insomnia.

Also not to mention all the other games with a bit different scale stories *cough* Mass Effect *cough*, I'm in the same situation as you are. Hell I'm still only past water temple in OoT3D even though that's the only game I own for the console (as I don't count DS games for the 3DS (already have a DSL and DSiXL for those)). BBS was quite a disappointment in my opinion, but that may be just because of my limited time available (only finished one of the main stories).

OT: I like the box + extras and this will, as always, appeal to all, who either haven't played the first games and want to, people, who want to have all things related to KH, and people, who just have too much money. Sad thing I've played the DS games already and I'm not one of the latter two groups.. :ha:

You guys are all missing the point.... they're trying to get rid of their greatest hit boxes so they have to rebundle them. Seriously, A FUCKING GREATEST HITS COVER IN A COLLECTION?!

I agree... They should put the normal cover.. I mean, it kinda turns off the buy to know you're not getting the original cover for the games. =S

358/2 was repetitive but it was just as much a part of the story as the two PS2 games!
Same with Chains of Memories.

days's mission like gameplay was crap, like most people said it didnt had many worlds and the enemies were repetitive, and the story line was forgetful but atleast they made some character progression for axel and saix which will be necessary to understand 3d.

re coded is just a spin off that even the small partion of story it had wont make it to the whole KH history

also i love how guild mentions the 3d game as a spin off without saying that BBS could be named as a spin off too (which for the record, an RPG with 10 hours of storyline that you have to play 3 times to unlock the real end, seems like megaman battle network 4 all over again)

How is a spin off a bad thing.... and did you play BBS? each storyline is different! in a role playing game you play a story. In BBS you play 3 roles and and after you patch together the 3 stories you figure out how the originals Kingdom Hearts game came to be.

As for the mission like gameplay in days most people didnt say it was repetitive. Only some, the rest were too damn busy playing the game to talk. Without the mission like gameplay KH would never have been seen on the DS. Thats what made it portable!

I'll just buy the faceplate on eBay or something. :)

In defense of Days (not Re: Coded), the plot added things that will probably become interesting in 3D and KH3. The gameplay was much more fun than CoM, and I personally enjoyed having a KH game on the go. (I didn't own a PSP at the time) If you don't enjoy the KH Storyline, there's really no reason for you to play the series at all.

Did you even play BBS? The stories between each character are different and you explore different areas of the worlds and mostly fight different bosses depending on the character, and get different scenes. Many times characters visit at different times from each other, the events aren't often repeated and aren't even always overlapping. You even meet different characters with each individual characters. Only sometimes does the dialog overlap, and you see different scenes or different parts of that scene depending on your character. Comparing it to a game like MMBN4 is ridiculous (plus i found MMBN4 sucked tremendously even in a single playthrough, despite liking several of the games in the MMBN series).

Neither Birth By Sleep or 3D can be considered spinoffs or side games, regardless of how you feel about the DS titles. The two are clearly important and drive the main plotline forward. Especially 3D, which is a true sequel to KH2, containing new or heavily remade worlds, new characters, new dialog, and clearly extremely important events. Both were developed internally as what they call a "main numbered title", as important as KH1 or KH2.

i did played BBS and did enjoyed it, the whole storyline was like a puzzle you could only understand after the third role, but that game was too short!
10 hours a character for the first time on expert (while with terra i didnt understood how the skill/bonuses worked so i had minimum hp till i got to xehanort)...
yeah you can add up for 30 hours of playing, but really some of the time was just overlapping bosses/scenes/farming/playing on the arena, for an RPG it felt short

also IMO 3d, bbs, days and com cannot be considered spin offs as their storyline is part of the whole storyline, i was just pointing out that guild said that the 3 dses game were spin offs while he didnt mentioned bbs

BBS wasn't the longest game, but i feel they did make it worth playing through all three stories. They were different enough where i really didn't feel like they were just recycling all the same story elements over and over again.

Days and ReCoded are both considered side games. ReCoded leaning towards a spinoff more than Days, but the ending having some pretty good relevant plot info. The only real spinoff in the series is one of the cell phone games (not Coded but the other one). Chain of Memories is vitally important to fully understanding what the hell is going on in KH2. Most of the worlds are useless, but everything that happens in the main castle is of the utmost importance. With KH3D, it looks like Days is going to seem all the more important. Perhaps even some of the events in ReCoded will turn out to be more important than we expected. We'll see.

But as it stands, BBS and apparently 3D are both up to the same main game story standards as KH1 and KH2. Internally, BBS is considered "Kingdom Hearts 0". And 3D might as well just be called Kingdom Hearts 3 as it truly advances the plot forward in time. If the events occurring in KH3 weren't already spoken for that is.

I hope KH3D's worlds have a lot of content. Would be good if they opted for a 4GB cartridge. But even if they only use 2GB, still a 200MB advantage over BBS for extra content (which is actually a lot considering everything).

It's a cool bundle, but with two terrible games, and one game I just enjoyed the first and only time I beat it (358/2 days), i'd never pay such a ridiculous price for it. Way, way too expensive.

358/2 wasn't terrible. The combat was a bit tedious, but I do remember enjoying it enough to beat it, and I liked the story besides the fact it had a shit ending.
