So, maybe a reason why nintendo and other companies are able to block all these hacking things is because they read these forums? D: Maybe they have bought all the flash cards and everything! Or maybe you guys already knew this, and therefore this is a complete waste of time/space. lol.

It would make sense for them to have their people buy flashcards so they can prevent them. Can't really protect their systems without having it to test on.

There's not a whole hell of a lot on the Temp that actually warrants Nintendo to waste their time browsing it.

A company following a dedicated scene news site makes more sense, like if Sony were to follow PS3.dashhacks or similar. (though it's mostly shit news these days since the PS3 scene is basically no existent, so bad example)

The temp does have some stuff about emulators, flashcarts, etc etc... But most of the users here just talk about it or buy them, and even then, not all of the members actually pirate stuff here... Nintendo might know of this site, but they're most likely not concerned about it since it doesn't provide links to roms or anything of the sort... This site is in a barely legal standing, but still legal none the less.

It does seem they've won the war though.
Yeah, I know they can hold way more data now, but isnt it funny that both new handhelds are using a new type of cartridge?
Call me a downer, but I thing Sony and nintendo have the security pretty much locked down this time. Maybe they even cooperated in terms of sharing ideas to make strong ap.
Only time will tell I guess, but its locked down for the foreseeable future.

not only the security can evolve y'know, hackers gain more experience and get better tools to use as well=03
maybe it'll take years to hack the 3ds, but eventually it will be inevitable

Try getting past that, Nintendo. :creep:

But seriously, they're probably not reviewing a forum like this constantly, maybe every once in a while. I'd imagine they would rather view 3DBrew or hacker blogs/tweets/ect since those will be the direct sources for what they need to patch. Here, it's more of "okay, the hack is already known. Let's play a game or make homebrew."
Monitoring the exploits/hack sources would be a far better use of their time than viewing a forum which creates homebrew after the hacker(s) have already found a way in.

Nintendo doesn't care about these forums, because flash carts, ISO loaders, and other piracy circumvention devices are not developed on this site. at least not visibly. You see, those things only land here as an end product.

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though

@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.
