hey guys
I'm new to this whole xbox thing
i have a couple of games and they are getting scratched up so fast.
i asked my friend and he told me to mod it so i could play off the hard drive.
so I'm asking what is the best way to mod it
i looked at the the X360Dock/X360K3y/X360USB Pro
i don't know what does what and they all look the same to me

i know that for the dock i would have to cut the case of my xbox to get the mainboard to fit.

so what to get and what does what compared to the other ones?

i have a xbox slim 4gb

help a temp out here :D

Well if you want the easiest one it looks like the X360Dock would be the right choice, pretty much plug and play! But without a display on it yet, you would need to have it hooked to your computer! And you dont need to cut anything for this one!

I really like the X360Dock but im gonna wait till they release the new version before i buy!

I've been hearing mixed reviews of the X360Key, and it seems like a bitch to install!!

The X360USB Pro is just a tool to flash, and read keys, and things of that nature, its not a usb loader!

But remember with any of them your gonna need to extract your keys from you dvd drive, which requires some know how of that whole process! They are saying the next version of the X360Dock will do this for you, otherwise you will need to check some tutorials on extracting your key!

Playing 360 games from the harddrive involves jTAG or RGH. (no Live)
To play backups from DVD you'll need to flash your DVD Drive.(Live Safe as far as possible)
To play them off an external hdd via a modchip you'll need your DVD key and a modchip (Live unsafe or safe I personally don't know)

Best is to flash your drive (cheapest and easiest)

Live isn't safe either way, Dinoh. USB Loading is actually far better than flashing his drive especially since he'll be running his games through the HDD which will prevent overheating. It is the cheapest, but I'm not really sure flashing his drive is the easiest since he's just plugging in the motherboard of the USB Loader without any soldering skills.

Yeah idk if i would go online with a usb loader right now...dont think they are very safe!

Flashing is always a good alternative! But it is a little tougher with a slim compared to a phat!

I've been playing for years with a flashed console.
Hours and hours on end.
Never gotten flagged/banned.

It's just making sure that you have your backups patched properly and burned on a good DVD medium ie. Verbatim.

For USB loaders you still need your DVD Drive key iirc.

That doesn't mean it's safe. Microsoft can take actions against your flashed console and figure out that you stealth patched your ISO and ban you if they want to. Just like when people thought it's safe to play backups on Live before till the ban wave came.. As for the DVD Drive, you're right the USB Loaders do need the DVD Drive key.

Never said it was safe.....

As far as ban waves, if a suspected ban wave is coming I'll tend to stay offline.

MS can even ban you from live for being on Live for 6 weeks straight. (not that they do that)

Okay so just to clear things up I don't go online ever. So I don't care if it's safe or not. Plus I read that USB Loaders can allow you to turn them off so if u have a legit copy of a game u can play that and go online 100% safe.

So the X360Dock would be the best. So to get the key do u use like the Probe 3 which I saw in same YouTube Videos or is there an easier way to do it.?

Is there enough space for the main board of the X360Dock to sit in place. To load a game u need a PC, so after you load a game came u shut off the PC after loading or do u have to keep it on while your playing? Can u use the PC's built in hard drive to load the games ?

I just their website and it can load games from the internal HDD of a PC do that's good. How do I dump my DVD drive key the easiest way??
And is there space for the main board to sit because I saw on their website that u have to cut a hole in the metal of he inside of the Xbox slim case to make room for the board and to prevent it from shot-circuit????

Dead simple is just to buy the games and never go pirating again.

1. You could pay someone to flash your 360 (be sure to ask for a dump of the DVD key)
2. You could pay someone to jTAG/RGH your 360 and never go on Live (addition of Homebrew and games on the internal HDD)
3. You could pay someone to install a USBLoader modchip (Live unsafe/safe I don't know)

^ thats 3 options where you don't need to do jack other then brining your console along with you.

second what is the difference between a flash and using mod chip? don't care about Live. advantages? disadvantages?

Flash= Burning discs.
Modchip= USB HDD Loading.

The advantages should be obvious. (Modchips=No burning discs. Flash=No USB HDD)
