Pong, I reckon you should make one big thread (similar to your E-Shop one) for updates. In the spoilers write what the update does and if it blocks flashcarts.... just a thought....

It's great to have a place with all the updates and their changes.

I'll edit the Firmware version in the Title to always match the latest available.
Edit: Well, I renamed it so it keeps the same title. It's easier to keep working links to this topic over time.

Maybe it should be in hacking forum, as there are information with working flashcards?
I'll leave it here for the moment, but I guess we will have a lot of users posting in hacking forum to ask if their flashcards are working.

There is already this topic for working flashcards in the hacking forum.
And also in this topic, you can find list and links to working flashcard firmwares.

PS: It's strange that they didn't update the firmware version (2.2.0) but they incremented the release number to 4 (2.1.0-4).
I guess they didn't change internal, just minor fixes.

Does this "Your Nintendo 3DS system and software are not designed for use with any unauthorized device and/or any unauthorized software. Please note that the Nintendo warranties do not cover any defects to or defects caused by unauthoriz..... blah blah blah blah blah" mean that nintendo can brick our 3DS if we use flashcarts and "Nintendo (as well as Nintendo licensees or distributors) is not responsible for any damage or loss"

if that is true, they may have hidden something in the update the bricks our 3ds after a certain amount of time using flashcarts or something...

that would be bad, if that is the case NO-ONE who uses flashcarts should do the update.

nintendo cannot deliberately brick your 3ds. if they did they would have to replace it. all they can do is likely ban the console id so that you cannot use the eshop or online play.
that tos is just scare tactics.

I'm kind of concerned about the next update, the one that apparently occured today or something blocks flashcarts. I am not overly concerned though. The 3ds doesn't play DS games well anyway. That's why I kept my DSi and DS lite.
