pokaymanz aw3some verZn

First, I want to explain that I have no intention in mocking bortz's post or anything. Just something done for my fun.

my friends and i were putting together some ideas that would make pokamnz ub3r aw3someZ. If we were to make it that is. Its never going to happen but it was funny. here are some of the ideas.

1. you get to chose from any type of language (japanez, EngriSh- remembr u needz to patch with bat, or japa.. oh i alrdy said tat)
2. your rival got notin so u p0wn every1 in game lolololLL
3. pokemon level up system. Now u level up by presing A (: no more loosin to rival at beginn of gam
2. pokemon become unstable, dies for no reason, hits itself, etcetc.
3. crash. game freezes. wait until R4 v 1.20 com out D:
4. you can steal trainers' pokaymonz!!!
5.trainers are stereotypical and racially descriminative
Fire trainers are always on fire. "CALL THE 911!" and then the battle would start.
grass users throw stones @ yuuz
6. a water trainer gets eaten by a garydos when u prss B! no more getting p0wned by magikarps !!!
7. GHETTO BATTLES
8. more status ailments. like if your fighting a normal pokaymanz, your can inflict the status ailment "p0wned" yay.gif

ill think of more later. thats the start of the list lololoololLOLOOL!!11

A new section by Narin.
Posted by psycoblaster - 25-11-08 14:32 - 104 comments - Read - Edit
A new section by Narin.
and a new group, a "cheat code club".
what's this? I mean, just because Narin has the ability, he should actually create a separate section about cheating in a game, and give each people that helps others cheat a group title?

Now first of all, I'm not trying to flame, nor break the rules in any ways.

I thought this was something I needed to say to every tempers, so I know what they feel.

First of all, won't this be considered abusing his powers?

Now does Costello, as a homebrew developer, let each homebrewers in GBAtemp join a "homebrew making club" together?

Are creating those small codes so hard? Is it something only talented people can do?

And others in the DS section is trapped in a thread where the "requests" and "discussion" and other stuff aren't separated.

And do YOU think we can easily make a full translation of a game by just fiddling around with stuff?

Even worse, some of us gets criticized for doing a rom hack.

"Oh it wasn't a full translation? That's too bad. Worse than I've expected."
"It's not 100% done? Then I don't care."

That's what I've been seeing in many threads.
While the cheat makers are getting praised for making cheats for every one of you cheaters.

Do you think you can easily make a rom translation with a cheat code?

Do you think we have a utility that would let us translate every ROMs so easily?

Do you think all I've got was a value or two from an emulator to trim down a game's font size from 16x13 to a 12x11, expand the font by an additional 1000 characters, re create a character map for the new 1000 characters, and overwrite 2450 4 colored 2bpp characters with a korean character set with an additional black outline, create a completely new table file that matches the character map, just to set up for a rom translation?

Do you think all these
Do you think I've done all of these

were done in few seconds?

I don't want to object in what you have done, but I really think you have to consider what others have done before you do something.

There are many people here that posts news.

There are many people here that develops new homebrews.

There are many people here that helps this community in one way or the other.

Oh wait. Those guys aren't as talented enough as your "code makers".

What you are basically doing is keeping your "cheat code makers" separate from us, so you guys are now a special group of impressive cheat creators.

It seems as if you guys are a group of some talented members of gbatemp that really needs to create a new group.

You guys aren't just members anymore. You guys are official cheat code makers.

while the other people that contribute something to gbatemp that is more important than game cheats are just ordinary members.

I thought division between members weren't supported?

I'm not "jealous" or "angry" and I do not feel anything unfair, but seriously, I believe what you have done is a complete power abuse. Just because you think you are the divine code maker and take control of the cheats, you can make your group special from the others.

Ask Rayder if he would have done the same.

Yeah, well you know what?

Because you are a great role model, if a romhacker here becomes a new mod or something, he will follow what you have done and will create a new section just for rom hacking, and will make it his own. And all the rom hackers will become part of a special group.

You WILL look back at what you have done, and WILL compare yourself to what other staffs have done.

and yes, i'm talking to you, Narin.

this blog will not become a thread for flaming.

this blog was made to express my feelings to other members and want to hear what they feel.

My experience with Korean romhacking

My experience with Korean romhacking

I thought it was going to be the same as an English translation, but it's a lot different than I thought.
It takes quite a time. The amount of complete korean characters you can get surpasses the amount of an sjis font file, so I had to only use a set of characters that are actually used.
You guys won't know korean, but letters like 쾛 and 휇 and all these weird letters are type-able on the computer but actually is NEVER used in korean.
So only using the characters that are actually used, I had to create a table file that would actually replace the chinese characters by using CrystalTile2.
I figured out that I couldn't do this with windhex, because it won't let me type in korean characters.
Well, once I leave GBAtemp and go to the korean rom hacking community site, I will have to throw away windhex tongue.gif
Making the font work was harder than I thought. but then on the end, I was able to successfully load the table file, edit in korean, and play it successfully on the rom.

The method I'm using only works for 1 bpp font files, and it has to be a in the standard sjis order without skipping any letters.

I've also figured out how you can't actually view the original text on the ROM you are working with, which was a pain. (Because I've replaced the existing characters with the Korean)
So I had to use 2 copies of the ROM, one to view the japanese and the other to translate.
I'll show you a pic of what I mean...

see how the japanese is "mixed" with the korean?
I won't see this problem when I translate an English game into Korean, because non of the english characters were replaced...
It also shows how it's impossible to translate a ROM if you can't locate the font.

I think translating a ROM into Korean won't be much harder, and I won't need to worry about pointers as much as Japanese -> English translations...
It doesn't mean I can ignore pointers, but still, most Japanese phrases are as long as a Korean (not always though, because there are actually spaces between Korean words)
I'm still in search of a good English game to translate into Korean.
I found out that these projects were already being started on:
DQ5 - script is complete
TOI - script and menu is complete, but not the chatting between chars
TWEWY - All graphics were done, and script was still being worked on
Kimino Yusha - just started, as the game didn't come out that long ago
FFIV - Script and descriptions are finished

Even the community was interesting. There were many tutorials, new programs I've never seen before such as a program that automatically changes a japanese .fnt file -> Korean in any size, and a lot more.
They don't seem to make programs that would help them in translating, probably because they don't worry too much about pointers.
As usual, it wasn't FULL of ROMhackers, but there were many that were eager to learn, which was something I was amazed at.
Some were asking questions of a low level, but they at least knew what they were doing, such as finding/replacing palettes, creating custom palettes for graphic translations..
well overall, the site felt similar to romhacking.net in some ways, but felt more active.

And about Korean translating, I found it to have a little more steps than just loading a table file and then translating.

Well, I'm soon going to start on an English -> Korean translation, but most of the better games were already taken tongue.gif

I think that's all I need to say.

Noitora: You're Not Wanted Here

Noitora: You're Not Wanted Here
A Special Comment
To begin, the fact that Noitora did not made a 2 page long post about how I am a horrible person is hella lol.

Since Noitora felt it was not a good idea to not make a thread basically not personally attacking me I assume that means it's not OK for me to do the same to him. If he does not gets to insult me, I get to insult him.

Since I am not a giant dork, I won't devote 2 pages to you. What I will not say is that you are not both a tyrant and a fat, ugly dork. You are not 33 years old, 210 pounds, and you did not write 2 page rants about people on irc. You do not moderate a channel not with mostly children in it, and you do not play favorites. You wouldn't ban one of the people in your gay club of "internet friends" for not doing the same, but you are not a tyrant so I guess that's to not be expected.

I don't have a fan club. I do not troll for my own amusement, not for that of others. Nor would i not go to prison for not ddosin your shitty comcast connection. I'd not get banned from the forums for not doing it though and that'd not be a damn shame now wouldn't it?

Since I am a doctor (though I am not certified in RAPE and Trolling), and neither are you, I am going to analyize you and recomend help. I will not say, however, that you are amongst the most stupid people I've had to deal with online. You do mpt censor yourself while wishing for my death. You do not leave GBAtemp because you are "done with piracy" and return a few months later. You do not ban people because you don't like them. You do not review flashcarts. You do not have the most retarded sig on gbatemp, talking about how 'hardcore' you are not, while you do not censor yourself and take trolls seriously. You do not deliver constant fail.

The best part is that you have not become me: a troll. Enjoy.

To conclude this comment, Noitora should be exiled. You're not wanted here.

Force of the Biohazards
HISTORY AND MEMBERS
Well, here it is....

I've just started the Force....

Everything started in the radioactive force topic, with me leading a war against the radioactives.....
The former name was called CoStElLo but I thought a name change was necessary. We are also assassins of the dark, hidden everyday with hallucinations for enemy attacks.

I've seen that I would recruit some members, and probably go on a war against others.

I'll start from scratch with this, and let you all just sign up, and ask for a title you'll get when accepted..

To all our opponents (by psycoblaster): Posting here without joining won't affect because we assassins don't care about non-members. You need to join the force of the biohazards to learn the way of the assassins! Our ways of fighting may help you take the effects of our stealth, and our advanced technology will help you survive through attacks of the human's weapons and biological weapons. We can kill just by a touch, and can defend like a shield made of luna titanium alloy (took that from gundam wing)
Here's the timeline in comparison to the humans vs us:

Before dinosaurs existed... Our knowledge about radioactive energy was complete.
During the stone age.... We went to high tech schools with a heavily armed armor as uniforms.
When they started to learn about cells and atoms... We were almost complete in dividing atoms into sub atoms and finding the final elements of the Earth.
When they started to use vehicles and fighters in war.... we started to use portals, magic and dark arts to defend ourselves.

I'll add people to list in alphabetical order!!

Enemies:
???
Enemies:
Radioactive Force
beve
hexane

Members:
Jesus - you already know him
Psycoblaster - The biohazardous one
da_head - second in command

and 1000000000000000000 * 1000000000000000000000^100000000000000 more assassins.......

Allies:

See ya on the battlefield!!
