GBAtemp member Takaishi has informed me that he is working on a new homebrew project called "Custom Ouendan". This promising piece of homebrew is currently work in progress and should hopefully one day allow players to create their own levels with their own soundtracks.

DLDI has not currently been implemented.
QUOTE(Takaishi)
Well, im working on a homebrew, a clone of Ouendan. Right now its BETA.

The final version WILL have an option to make your own level.

Right now it only have the music, circles and the spinner.

Thanks to Takaishi himself for the heads up.

Respect.

I love Ouendan.

Just completed the second one today. I can't believe how much the last level pumps me up.

I'm looking forward to playing some Ozaki Yutaka on Custom Ouendan.

This is a great idea.

If only Takeshi knew about DSP programming, then I am sure it would be possible to use beat detection algorithms to create 80% of the hits for you, the rest can then be manually placed. A nice link function could make it easy to create "slides" out of multiple taps.

But that is all speculation as I have no idea how the level code actually works smile.gif

I will be keeping an eye on this for sure... keep up the hard work!

I hope that this will be handled much like Stepmania, with relatively simple beat file creation, customizable backgrounds with either a slide show of images or video, skins, and one big database to store all the user-created content.

That would make this the ultimate program.
